**~ Empties 2011.12 ~** (skin care)

As I said earlier this month.  I have been quite a good girl and been diligent in using up skin care.  I am done with quite a lot of them.  Let me begin with the samples, then the full size, then an update to my Project-20-Skin-Care. :D

 Skin Care Samples

  • AHC Hydra B5 Smoother (sample *2) - Pretty good stuff.  I think I will consider this 'repurchasable'.  You let to let this sit a little bit before you apply other things on top otherwise it tends to crumble up, but it is a very good last-step serum to lock moisture - or to use before doing make up!!!
  • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Hardly - Stupid colourmix is asking for HKD1000+ for 1 bottle of this - unless my sanity is gone, I won't re-buy!
  • AHC phyto complex gel (sample *2) - Very nice light gel texture that gives a tight but not dry feeling to the skin.  It claims to help nourish, shape and anti-age, etc.  I like it.  It is slightly green/clear in colour.  Not thick gel that crumbs when you apply the next step.  Nice stuff.  No scent.
  • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe (again, not for its insane price)
  • AHC Vital Complex C-15 (sample *2) - This is for dull skin.  Contains 15% Vitamin C to brightening and smooth-wrinkles.  It is a weird yellowish oily texture, not gel, not water.  No special feeling on this though.  I feel like 2 samples is too difficult to see brigtening/wrinkle smoothing results, unlike hydrating which you can see instantly.
  •  Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe
  • **Note: I'm addicted to Naruko so I shall not be buying these few serums in near future :P**

  • Kiehl's WHITE Brightening Botanical Essence (sample) - A milky white essence.  Apply and layer well.  I feel it did overall brighten up my skin a bit, but I don't see a significant fade of spots or anything.  Nice.
  • Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No

texture of the kiehl's essence
  • Etude House Total Age Repair Royal Essence (sample) - Just used this once.  Decently emollient and smooth as a milky serum.  Didn't impress me with 1 application :P
  •  Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No
  • Methode Swisse Radiant Resilience Reviver (sample) - It lasted much longer than I thought.  The texture is just a tiny bit thicker than water.  Smells of nothing.  Doesn't feel like anything on the skin.  I doubt the effect it had on my skin, despite I have been using it on and off for quite a while.
  • Rating: 2/5 + Repurchase: No
  • Vitacreme B12 Anti-Ageing Serum (sample) - This smells a little drug or plastic like.  I like that it is a semi-clear hot pink gel which absorbs quickly and hydrates well.  Don't see much of its anti-aging effect, although I suspect its moisturising properties help to smooth out slightly my fine lines due to dryness around corners of eyes and nose.
  • Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No
     pretty pink Vitacreme serum

(finally finish my serum samples galore!)

    (cleansers and some mositurisers~*)

    • The Saem St. Herb Rose Micro Whip Foam Firming (sample *2) - Got these free with purchases on my Seoul trip.  This cleanser is pale pink creamy consistency with some red beads (that will melt).  Smells soft and lovely.  Foams up nicely.  Worked nice alone and with Clarisonic Mia.  Comparable to my Laneige Multi Cleanser.  The Saem is indeed a decent brand to check out if you plan to try Korean cosmetics.  Highly Recommend!
    • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Highly Probable!
    •   Beauty Life Aqua Mild/ Rose Bulgarian Olive Cleansing Milk (sample *2) - Beauty Life is now renamed as Beautiella, a brand from Choi Fung (read more here).  I love their Bulgarian Rose line, as well as some other products. These 2 cleansing milk are okay - not the best I have tried.  I like mine to be thick and creamy, these tend towards the light and runny side but still soothing and gently cleansed.
    • Rating: 2/5 + Repurchase: No.

    •  Cle de Peau Cleansing Cream (sample) - For the price, I expect something either more effective, or more gentle or more luxurious feeling.  It is neither of them, just a good make up remover.  I don't know if that few mintues of make up removal will 'nourish my cell', that's the whole theory of CPB according to the beauty assitant; but this thing just does it job without impressing me further.
    • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Not for the price!
    •  Cle de Peau Gentle Cleansing foam (sample) - Gives the firmest, best foam I have ever met in my life.  No joke.  I am not a very talented manual handler with foaming wash so I always use my foaming net to help.  The bubble/foam produced are like.. hardened souffle (sorry poor description).  Smells just okay - this is my chief complaint about CPB products - but leaves skin very clean and not dry - just moist, not super hydrated either.  I have a full tube to use now, so I'll be good until I need a replacement from cheaper brands ;)
    • Rating: 5/5 + Repurchase: Not for the price!

    • Dr. G Multi Protection Cream (sample *2) - Although it is now winter and on most days it is not quite sunny, UVA/B still comes through and damages our skin.  I am a pale-skin-follower and I like my skin as spot-free as possible.  Hence I still layer on SPF30 or even 50+ whenever I feel like it.  This MP Cream gives a SPF30 and PA++ protection; has a creamy and blendable texture.  No particular scent and no significant white residue.  I like this a lot!  Highly recommend!
    • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Yes
    • RoC Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Cream Night (sample) - Good emollient night cream.  Actually like this a lot.  Might go back to this when I need serious anti-age fighter!
    • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe
    •  Vichy Aqualia Thermal Eyes: Soothing + Fortifying Hydrogel (sample) - A clear watery gel with weird tiny reflective particles inside.  Not very clearly shown in the pic below, but they're there - greenish - see?.  Mine might be a little off hence smell a bit like plasticine.  Gives mediocre moisture - almost dry to touch within seconds.  Not very good in my opinion.
    • Rating: 1/5 + Repurchase: No
    Vichy shimmer eye gel

    Skin Care

(Done with samples, now onto Full size!)

    • Biore Make Up Remover - Now that I have finished this up, I suddenly remember this could be something else.  Here's the story: because I love this bottle design so much, I kept the bottle after using up the content and refilled it with something else.  This round that I have finished up could be actually the mandom one - not sure.  Anyway, let's pretend it is the Biore one (can we?!)... Doesn't sting my eyes and does the cleansing job right.  No complain whatsoever.  Plus I love the bottle design - repetitive!!
    • Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Yes
      • Dr. Hauschka Facial Toner - Leaves good scent, soft skin and no residue no matter how much you spray on!  I love Dr. Hauschka products in general - except their price in Hong Kong probably.  Compared with the Clarifying Toner which I used up previously (link here), this is a little more mositurising, whereas the Clarifying is more refreshing.  I love them both and I would buy more if I visit Germany again (they are so much cheaper there!).  The good ingredients inside does help strengthen the skin and gradually improves the skin's condition!!!  Highly Recommend!
      • Rating: 5/5 + Repurchase: Yes
      • **Note: don't you find the bottle super classy and beautiful?**

        2. @sugarbumpkin, hehe, I just throw everything on my face and treat my face a mixing bowl (or desert)... That's why I use up things so fast :P

        3. Ok, I found a lot of posts I'd like to read first, but I'd better request just one: the P20 lips! I'm a sucker for any posts with lipsticks/glosses ;)

The title of this HR eye makeup remover really got me! "All mascaras"? I'm sold! My top priority for an eye makeup remover is to cleanse off ALL traces of mascara. My fave was a gel cleanser from Yves Rocher but I can't find it anywhere now (discontinued? probably...), I'm currently using another gel cleanser by Avene that it's so-so, could be better at removing eye pencils :( I see this roll-on treatment for under the eyes has grown popular on high-end brands, nice! Too bad the Vichy eye cream-gel sucked!

          xx

        4. @Evi - sure! I will dig out the P20Lips for you first :P I'm not so much of a lip girl so hopefully this project can make me use them more often!

yea yea yea that HR does say 'all mascaras'! Haven't tried that yet, but usually these kind of 2 layers make up remover remove my waterproof eyeline/mascara quite well.

I'm trying out this roller ball thing, hopefully it helps to control my fine lines around eyes! hehe
