A while ago, I grew bored in a Bonjour (a beauty chain/drugstore similar to Sasa), which sells 'not-for-sale' beauty samples at decently cheap price. I saw this Derma White foundation sample in Cream Beige and was instantly drawn. I have pretty normal to fair skin tone, which is how the common HK foundation samples are made in. I suspect it is actually 1 or 2 shades lighter than the usual HK/Chinese customers, but because everyone like to be/look paler, the general sample they hand out is my skin tone - does it make sense?
Anyway, after I got home I immediately swatched this on my face and hand against one of my holy grails, Clinique Supermoisture in shade Cream Beige. And here are the comparsion:
Above are the hand swatches, with Supermoisture on the left and Derma White on the right. You can clearly see one is paler than the other, and Supermoisture does have some very delicate shimmers in to fake that glowy skin (I LOVE).
Silly face swatches, the swatch nearer to my nose is Derma White, and Supermoisture is the one closer to my ear.
I'm sorry I did this little experiment on the better side of my face, i.e. less freckles to cover. But as you can see, both gives a very natural medium coverage. The slightly darker tint of Derma White still blends in my skin tone flawlessly. It still can't beat my Supermoisture - can you see the gorgeous highlight it gives to my cheek in the last pic? :P
