Empties 2012.03.02

Yea. So this is yet another post of me photographing trash (packaging of used up products) and talking nonsense about them.  People who don't read/write empties post really won't understand how much we enjoy them, do they? XD

Make Up

#064 - Bourjois, Reboosting Collagen Foundation #61 Abricote Clair
This has been discontinued, ages ago.  Smells good.  Very light coverage and easy to blend.  Doesn't do much on the skin except a little 'evening skin tone' effect.  Bourjois makes really good foundation in general, and their colour range is good enough for me.  I'm gonna confess, I use this with buffing brush/kabuki style brush becoz I want this tube to run out soon - hence quite a bit was soaked up in the bristles.  But the application was really nice.  Now, it's time to move on to my other liquids/bb creams using same technique... Hehe...
Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No.

Skin Care

#065 - Naruko, Raw Job's Tears Supercritical CO2 Whitening Serum
Full review - Here
I'd open a new bottle of this in the hotter months, but not sure whether I'll repurchase :P  Major dislike?  This Raw Job's Tears line doesn't have a scent.  :P  Not a complaint, just a personal preference.
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe.

#066 - Natio, Rosewater & Chamomile Skin Toner
Got loads of these free from SASA - see this post - and it is surprisingly good!  Natio is an Australian brand making 'natural' or 'aromatherapy' themed products.  This smells calming and does tone my skin.  Like it a lot!  No regrets on redeeming so many bottles of these!
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: No.

#067 - Shu Uemura, Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil
Smells soft and clean.  Decently easy to emulsify and melt off make up well.. As with all other Shu Uemura cleasning oil, I don't see the point of paying the price for mineral oil.  :P
Rating: 2/5 + Repurchase: No.

#068 - Lush, "Angels on Bare Skin"
Mentioned in my favourites, I find the aroma of this cleanser ultra-soothing and enjoyable.  However, I don't find it cleanse effectively or perform any miracle to my skin - see my original 'disappointment'.  So this is not a must-have, which I may still repurchase.  We'll see.
Sidenote: I went to a Lush counter and asked if there's similarly scented product and the sales lady recommended me the Imperialis moisturiser.  I applied it on back of my hand and I didn't like the scent.  Also, the moment I walked away from the counter, the scent fades to a slight plastic scent and the moisture just vanished.  :S
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe.

#069 - Neutrogena, Deep Clean Cleasning Water
Made in Korea.  Not irritative even in contact with eyes.  Smells very lovely, just like the cleansing oil from the same line (also made in Korea).  Decently effective in removing face make up and others, except super waterproof mascara and eyeliner, which I use regularly, sadly.  Not the most suitable product for my needs but good anyhow.
Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No.

Sheet Mask

#070 - Mask House, Revitalizing Korean Herbal Mask
Korean.  Lovely Ginseng scent.  Decently moitsurising.  Sheet quite thick and paper-like (not soft).  Cutting was just okay.  Didn't cover my nose tip!?
Rating: 2/5 + Repurchase: No.

#071 - Foodaholic, Red Ginseng Natural Essence Mask
Korean.  Lovely Ginseng scent which later changes to a slight plastic smell (I like to use plastic to describe anything I find artificial/weird).  The cutting is a funny cut with 2 sheets sewn in the centre of the face.  Does moisturise well and no residue feeling afterwards.  But the scent is really putting me off.
Rating: 1/5 + Repurchase: No.

#072 - It's Skin, Collagen Mask Sheet
Korean.  Very light to no scent.  Soft and moist fabric.  Leaves skin moisturised and clean.  Not exceptionally remarkable though.
Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: Probably Not.

#073 - Lacvert White Tea White Mask
Korean.  Soft clean scent.  Soft and thick fabric.  Brightens and soothes skin.  Decent.
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Maybe.

Body and Hair

#074 - Korres, Achillea Conditioner
This is supposed to be a very good conditioner, no silicone, no bad ingredients basically.  It also smells very lovely - natural, kinda floral and soothing.  However, it is like water on my hair and did nothing.  BLAH!
Rating: 3/5 + Repurchase: No.

#075 - Haus of Gloi, "Vice" Soft Bubbling Scrub
Love this scent "Vice" very very much!  But for the price (especially the shipping), I don't think I'll repurchase.
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: No.

#076 - Dove, Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo
It has a traditional Dove bar soap scent to it, which I'm not too fond of.  Foams up nicely (hello saponification), and leaves hair moisturised and soft.  However, consecutive use of this shampoo makes my scalp oily - like bad-hair-day kind of oily - and flat.  I ended up diluting this and used this to do laundry (note: washing machine OOO outoforder for more than a week - tragic).
Rating: 1/5 + Repurchase: No.

#077 - Dove, Nourishing Oil Care Conditioner
Same as the shampoo, this has the traditional Dove soap scent.  Doesn't moisturise too well, and the texture is a bit runny-er than I expect.  My 2nd tube shall go to my sisters as well! :P
Rating: 2/5 + Repurchase: No.

Hmmm... So, looks like I need to be more more more and more hard-working on using things up, it's getting a bit slowed down because due to stress at work, I slacked at taking care of myself for a bit.  Now I'm definitely picking up the speed! ;)  Especially with sheet-mask routine, I need need need to use up more of my stash!

Have you recently used up anything?  Anything particularly good or bad that worths mentioning?

 Cheers :D

  1. I agree, the empties addiction is difficult to understand if you don't have it you cannot stop! I find myself trying to finish items just so I have something to do for the end of the month. haha. Great empties post! I should switch to using a brush with my foundations too... the bottles refuse to empty! hehe

    1. yea yea~ I can't stop collecting empty bottles, packages and everything just to make these posts! I am obsessed :P

one more tip. the traditional sponge method is even more effective to eat up foundations. in case you're interested :) and I found sponge works better for my flaky skin during this change of weather!!!

      cheers~
