Recent Regrets - May'12

  • Lush Seanick
  • L'Oreal Volume Shocking - Exact
  • Missha Face Contour Brush
  • Maybelline XXL Pro extension Micro Fibre Mascara
  • Eyeko Big Eyes Mascara
The solid shampoo itself works amazing.  I enjoy using Seanick so much.  It gives my hair and mind a very very sweet treat.  The downside is, my bathroom is a tiny one, with no window nor good ventilation (a tiny ventilation fan is inadequate in the current humidity) - hence this soap cannot be dried totally in between washes.  For your information, I don't use this every day because I like to switch things up - I use this around 2 to 3 times a week, while I wash my hair once daily.  I figure I will not repurchase until I move to a place where I have a well-ventilated bathroom of my own.

If you can't see the hair sticking out from the Missha Face Contour Brush, I'm telling you - this sheds!  I have been using it for a few months now, and it never stops shedding.  Also, whenever I wash it, it bleeds blue/black ink like crazy.  The cut of this brush is not good either.  Overall, a fail.

All the above mascaras don't work with my lashes, for different reasons.

L'Oreal Volume Shocking used to be one of my top favourites.  It gives very voluminous and thick lashes which is water proof and wear very nice throughout the day.  However, this tube - probably quite old - that I recently started using has a very bad base coat - it weighs my lashes straight down.  The black side is still okay.

Maybelline makes many different mascaras, I don't remember liking any of their duo-end offereings.  *don't ask me why I bought this one!*  This particular one was bought in UK, and that's probably why the formula totally went wrong on my lashes.  Neither did the primer nor the black side work.  No length, no curl, no volume.

On the other hand, Maybelline Volume Express seems to work for me.  Both the UK and Hong Kong versions.

Last but not least, the Eyeko (old) Big Eyes mascara.  I see that it brings out 3 new ones now and the one I featured above is probably phased out.  Nothing to miss.  Too heavy for my lashes.

Guess I'll probably stick with liquid shampoos and Asian mascars for quite a while, in case I allow myself to buy new ones!

Beautiful wishes,

Lazy silly Jacq :")

  1. Cheers to regrets. They make us appreciate the good products. Thanks for sharing. I've used that L'Oreal mascara before. It didn't work for me either.

  2. I love the Lush shampoo bar!! I went travelling for 5 months and took that exact same one with me instead of carry around a big heavy bottle and it was just brilliant! It totally saved me, it cleaned my hair so well and even though I used it every other day for 5 months it still hadnt run out! I kept mine in the little tin which was great! :-)

    1. Good for you! The product itself is great I agree. I got the tin also, but the bar is supposed to be placed inside when it is dry, is it? The bar never dry in the weather, or maybe it's because of my small washroom.

I wish I can afford a washroom to support this bar. (haha)
