Blogust #5 - Go China FOTD!
Let me keep this short and sweet. If you want to know what I used, please read on!
Firstly, this is a look to support my dear Wu Minxia in her 3m Springboard. I will be staying up till 02:00 (Monday) local time to watch her finals. :D Secondly, I was trying out the Illamasqua toys I aquired earlier on. Below you can see their swatches and some short initial reviews! Thirdly, I was having fun doing these once-every-4-years patriotic looks. Dramatic Editorial Crazy make up really makes me happy~!
Illamasqua Under-Eye Concealer in UC200 (link)- used under eyes. its texture is creamy and slighty peachy. works really nicely on my under-eye area.
Illamasqua Concealer in CC210 (link) - used this around my nose, chin, everywhere else. very pigmented, quite creamy. good match for my skin tone now. this particular shade may be discontinued.
Suqqu Dual Effect Powder Foundation in 102 (link) - *not pictured* got this in Tokyo in June. and I have been using this almost every day since. it is so so so so so good. the texture is DIVINE. you can never look cakey with this powder foundation no matter how bullshit your skin condition is (note: i have not been treating my skin for 2 months now), nor how heavy-handed you are. it just looks perfect. although this is insanely pricey, it is worth every yen i spent! i use this dry, with a sponge, all over my face. only the skin-tone shade. i don't use the contour/shadow shade every day. expect to see a hit-pan review very soon! :D
Illamasqua Powdered Metal in Thalia (link) - a very shimmery fine blush/bronzer for my skin tone. i guess for some darker skin, this could be blush/highlight. for this look I used this as a blusher and bronzer because i have too much red going on my eyes+lips. the texture is soft and very blendable. not the easiest to handle as it is loose and flies everywhere, but definitely worth the mess! it looks so pretty on~
Naris Up Brow Up Pencil Eyebrow in Light Brown (link) - one of my holy grail brow pencil. even though i have more brow pencils and powders to use than anything, i managed to purchase a backup when i last saw it. the light brown shade is not always available in stores. i love the colour, the brush, the longevity on the skin, and the price. LOVE.
Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (link) - very nice indeed. got this mini from a blogsale and have been trying out lately. once i used it with loreal infaillible/indefectible and the bright coral stays put all day for like 12 hours. this time i used this with the very creamy creasing-prone cream shadow and nothing creases! may need to get the full size when i run out of eye primer!
Lakme Nine to Five Kohl Ultimate (link) - waterproof, smudgeproof, blackest black, cheap, with a smudger end, with a sharpener in the lid, smooth, you name it! drawbacks are, probably just available in India. luckily, it is just another germany made eyeliner, so probably you can find the same thing from smashbox, gosh, mac, probably soap n glory too, based on sam's video i just watched.
Solone Jumbo Eyeliner Pen (link) - a taiwan brand, gloriously made in taiwan. their technology is so renounced, probably as good as japan and korea now! black, stays put, no flaking, cheap, easy to use. love it. just used it a few times, hope it doesn't dry out too quickly!
Illamasqua Cream Eyeshadow in Outcast (no link) - used as a base on the inner-middle lid. very sticky and creamy. prone to creasing. sunnysideup kind of yellow. brilliant. i believe nyx has a jumbo eyeshadow stick in similar shade too. not worth the original price in my opinion, but good to have, esp as i acquired this on sale! i think illamasqua might have discontinued all these cream shadows as i can no longer find them on the web!
L'Oreal Infaillible/Indefectible in Goldmine (no link) - this particular shade is a soft gold, a little sandy-beige in tone. high shine. i love all my L'Oreal indefectibles. they are creamy pigment-cream hybrids and just look so beautiful on! applied in my inner corners, and as a blending shade.
Shiro Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Cornucopia (link) - i love the Hunger Games, i love Shiro, i love Gold. this is a bright gold, my swatch didn't do it justice. applied on my lid dry. if wet, expect more more brightness and drama.
Illamasqua Fat Pencil in Wilful (link) - a rusty red. smells a bit old-ish. applies very smoothly. like it. used as a base for the red on my outer lids. again, this shade is probably discontinued.
Stila Eyeshadow Duo in Terracotta (no link) - i used the brown on lower lash line outer half, and the red on outer upper lids. smooth. lovely. hate it when i can't get stila in hong kong. i believe these duos are no longer for sale, correct me if i'm wrong.
I Nuovi Eyeshadow (link) - got this in sasa. not sure where-else are they sold. this shade doesn't have a name nor a number on. bright red with a blue purple-ish tint. beautiful texture. pigmented and not too powdery.
Illamasqua Fat Pencil in Wilful - used as liner and base
Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Devour (link) - pat on lips with finger. very very pigmented and creamy and shockingly pretty! but the shade was too orange on my lips. hence,
I Nuovi Eyeshadow - applied with a brush on top of Devour to neutralise the red per my liking.
