Favourite Summer Toner by Naruko 牛爾

Finally, here comes another Naruko skin care review!  Please note the pump bottle of cle de peau was re-used, I have finished the cle de peau long time ago, and review link is here.

I was thinking to give this review a bilingual attempt, with all the Universe against me (actually it's just my laziness).  So this time it will be only English...

Full name of the product:  Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Moisturizing Dew

全名:牛爾 愛慕可 水仙全效 禦護保濕露(日用/新配方) 臺灣官網連結

Narcissus Total Defense is one of the first lines Naruko began with.  It is the basic line, suitable for most skin types.  Along the way, it has incorporated whitening and moisturising properties into its products, but basically, this is the 'basic defense' offereings of Naruko.  Most things from this line has a very fresh and clean floral (Narcissus) scent, isn't too sticky (over-moisturizing) nor drying (overly oil-controlling).
Honestly, despite the long complicated full name of this product; it is in fact a refreshing + mositurising day toner.  Let me begin by saying I really enjoy using this toner, and I love it.

Quote from US Site:

Product Detail:

NARUKO Narcissus Total Defense Moisturizing Dew is a daytime toner that combines numerous highly potency ingredients. Moisturizing ingredients such as snow fungus extract and Hyaluronic Acid form a moisture binding barrier on the skin for all day hydration. The toner is also made of the exclusively patented Phytoferulin® complex and narcissus bulb extract which provide antioxidants to strengthen the skin's natural defense against environmental aggressors. Vitalizing ingredients such as essential oils activate and assist the skin with absorbance, water-oil balance, pore size decrease, and the calming of skin. The skin feels soft, smooth, hydrated and looks bright after use.

This gentle, ecofriendly product is made without parabens, preservatives, artificial ingredients or coloring.  The product is cruelty free and is not tested on animals.

The pics above show 1 pump - 2 pumps - 3 pumps from top to bottom.

My Opinion:

PRICE: 4/5

I like this toner very much!  I have transferred this to a pump bottle (as indicated in the 1st picture above), and I usually use 3 to 4 pumps depending on my cotton size (what!?).  The packaging is light, standard plastic but the stopper/opening makes the dispensing process painful... Hence I pour the content to another bottle... I guess I'll have to do the same with my other Naruko toners.  Other than that, this product has no downside to me.

Texture of it is a light watery liquid.  May not be suitable for those who like to pat/apply their lotion with their hands, but no problem for those who like to use a cotton.  By the way, it is 'quite' popular among some Japanese/Asian skin care gurus to use their hands to apply toners, just for your info.  This moisturising dew is quite light and quick to be absorbed.  However, it is still moisturising, so on most Summer days, I just go one with sunscreen or make up, skipping serums or moisturiser.  (lazy Jacq!)

As for the claims, I can only agree with the soft and smooth printed on the bottle.  I also feel skin is strengthened - as sun damage and the lack of care still didn't destroy the look and texture of my face totally... For the rest, I can't say... :P

Minor drawback:

The bottle.  But I have over-come that using my 'transfer' method.  hehe

Overall Rating: 23/25

Hurray, Okay or No Way?  Hurray!!!!

Recommend?  Yes!  Unless you're super oily and you need oil-control and mattifying toner/astrigent.  Most skin can benefit from this!  But I'll recommend oily/normal skin to add a oil-controlling moisturiser or primer afterwards.  For very dry skin, don't skip your moisturisers like I do...

Repurchase?  Yes, after I got through my dozens of toners.  :P

  3. naruko should think more about pumps for their bottles! :) thanks for review!

    1. yes Maria, that would be perfect if they do a pump! but i kind of overcome that difficulty with another pump bottle so i think that's alright! :D
      thx for reading!

  4. This sounds awesome, I love skin care and am actually getting more into everyday (bc of my age and I live in a almost always sunny area). Due to circumstances (my budget!) I make do with drugstore buys- there some good stuff if I look thoroughly!

    1. @yessie, asian skin care are reasonably cheap here (hey, coz I'm in Asia!). and a lot of them work really well for my skin. you can try serums and toners with more nutrients if your skin is maturing! :D Naruko is a brand I highly recommend and totally love~!
