Experiment | Ombre Lips 4-in-1

For the longest time, I have been more into eye make up than anything.  I purchase and collect eyeshadows, eyeliners, mascaras and even brow powders.  Until recently, I finally start wearing lip colours out the door,  regularly.  Saw these gradient effects all over the place, from leggings, tie-dye shirts, nails, lips, to phone cases, you name it, it's been ombred.  My friend LLN (her name without the vowels, go figure) who is a part-time photographer (her etsy shop) requested me try doing the "ombre lips".  So I did.

I dug out some of my lip products and created the four lip looks above.  Not much effort was made to perfect the blending nor cleaning up the edges.  You get the general idea.  As you may have already known as a fact, I love wearing red lips, so despite LLN requested more pinks and pales, I went and did two red lips...  All products used are photographed and listed below, with the exception of my DIY lip palette - I remember using a few shades in that but I forgot which ones...

Aftermath.  Lanolips is my lips saviour.  In between changes, I rubbed colours off and re-apply some Lanolips 101 Ointment.  It may be my illusion, but don't my lips look more moisturised in the reds (latter) than in the former light shades?  On the other hand, I realised how much I love my Illamasqua lip pencils (or medium pencils), the Ben Nye cream wheel, and playing with my lip, both colour, texture and the shape.  In the new year, expect to see, for sure, more lip products review or swatches or experiments like this one!  Don't you like more lipsticks, lipgloss? :D

    1. Lanolips is great - but definitely go through some of the existing balms first - beauty bloggers need to use more things up :P
