Un-boxing | Glamabox February 2013

Happy New Year!  新年快樂 (Sun Nin Fai Lok/ Xin Nian Kuai Le)!

Another month, another great Glamabox!  May I express my relief that this month's box is finally simply beauty, no more dietary supplement and personal health thrown in?  Not that I do not enjoy the extras, but sometimes it is easier for me to try and enjoy everything in the box when the content is more concise - blogging about extras does take up a lot of my time!

Out of the 5 products inside, the one thing I am most curious about is certainly the Cream Foundation by Gerda Spillmann.  Mine comes in the shade 01 Praline, and it is a pretty spot-on shade for my fair skin at the moment.

My camera and lighting changed a bit in the 2 pictures above, hope you can get an idea on the shade and texture blended in on the back of my hand.  I find it quite thick and high coverage.  The product has a slight scent, powdery and a bit granny-ish.  Some may not like that, but I'm okay with it.  It comes with a little compact with built-in mirror, and a really nice quality sponge.  I used that to press on the foundation for trial - not pulling on the skin, just dotting and pressing.  The result is pretty flawless and not too heavily made-up - a look I hate - so that's good 1st impression!

(I made a get-ready-with-me video that day, but I haven't find time to edit it yet...)

Below are 2 images I took with my first time trying this make-up out.  Excuse my expression... I didn't took enough portraits to choose from and I had to go with these two... :P

For the rest of the box, I have tried the BeautyDay Shea Butter Hand Cream, and I like it.  It is pretty thick and good for my super dry hands.  The hand cream smells amazing and contains African organic shea butter - feels like wearing a pair of delicious invisible gloves on~!  The other three items I am interested in trying too, especially the BeautyMate mask.  I have always been a big fan of BeautyMate's masks (do a quick search on my blog and you should find a review or two), and never got around to purchase this Snail one to try.  You can tell I'm a little excited!

I am a little surprised when I find two Aloe products in one box, given that I have gotten several aloe gel samples before already.  However, upon close inspection, these are different.  The German SantaVerde gel is more like a complex, more benefits to the skin; whereas the American Jorubi seems to be more 'purely' an aloe gel.  Anyway, will test them out and see how I like them!
