Recent Regrets 2013 August

Miss Hana, Maybelline, Clinique

Maybelline the False Lash Volum' Express Smudgeproof*
Colour is in black.  Wand, or the applicator, is a curved, flattened 'natural' bristle type.  Problem, the wand is weak and bends when worked on the lashes.  You cannot apply much force to it.  It has a wet formula and a lot, a lot of mini fibres in.  Problem, it doesn't hold the curl in my lashes.  Also, it may be smudgeproof but definitely water soluble.  Your eyes better not wink or water!

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
This roller ball serum was an impulse purchase - I was trying to reach a certain benchmark for Clinique's usual big bag of gift with purchase.  It doesn't work anything significant on me.  It has a soothing, cooling roller ball applicator, and a thin, watery content.  It targets, above all, puffiness.  I do not suffer from puffy eyes.  Mine are tiny (irrelavant, lol), slightly dry, with seasonal fine lines and year round dark circles.  This serum is not designed for me, therefore it is not its fault, but mine.  Although it doesn't even add much moisture to my under-eye, I must say that, it is a treat to roll this around the eye contour, and Clinique is generous with the 15 ml of product.

Kate, BCL, Spring Heart, Miss Hana, Naris Up

Miss Hana Eyebrow Pencil "Light Brown"
1 - The colour is not light, I'll call it medium warm brown. 2 - The lids aren't too secure.  One fell off and I decided to protect the colour side and sacrifice the spoolie, afraid the colour end will dry up too soon.  3 - Too creamy.  The Chinese name 眉膠筆 indicates that it may work like a gel brow liner, but it doesn't set as gel eye liners do.  4 - The biggest problem, the thickness.  Compared to the four pencils next to it, it is fat.  Spring Heart Oval Eyebrow has an oval cross section, and this Miss Hana, circular cross section, is as fat as the wide side of the oval.  It is worse than the blunt Naris Up.  Precision cannot be achieved with this pencil.

  2. I quite like this mascara when it's a few weeks old, the formula hardens up a bit! I do suffer from puffy eye so maybe I should check that out! xx

  4. These are all great. I love that Maybelline mascara. It works. Also, I'd love to try the Clinique de-puffing cream. I've major bags right now.
