Sample Sunday #3 | Prime Mini(ster)s

... or, in the un-twisted form, mini face primers.

Estee Lauder Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher - Just Jacq
Technically this is skin care, but it seems to work for me on the cheeks (pore issue area), before make up.  Doesn't have colour nor holds make up particularly well, but helped with the appearance of pores.  I use this like you would, with other silicony primers.  Plus, perhaps this really minimises pores in a long run?

Hera HD Make Up Base "Shade 60" - Joyeux Jacq
This is a creamy lotion kind of primer with a pale green tint.  Green is supposed to neutralise redness in skin.  I don't find this green too strong, which may create a ghostly cast, but natural enough to blend into my colouring.  The texture is great, too.

MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Enriched Moisturising Facebase - Just Jacq
Okay...  It is quite moisturising, but I am not a big fan of its citrus scent.  It is not offensive but a little cheap-smelling.

Paul and Joe Moisturizing Foundation Primer N "01" - Black Jacq
Moisturising, and gives skin a beautiful glow and finish.  It feels like high end skin care on the skin.  Honor - blog link! - gave me her full size bottle of another P and J primer.  Will report on that at a later time.

Laura Geller Tinted Under Make-Up Primer in Bronze - Joyeux Jacq
First of all, it is not very bronzing.  If you want a primer to slightly tan up your face or add some colour, this is not it.  Second, it has a gel texture, not the silicon-full powder-touch type, nor the creamy lotion kind, just a light hydrating gel almost.  I feel this works great under make up.

I hope you find this short post helpful.  Some of my favourites are: Paul and Joe, Banila Co. (slightly silicony), Media (smooth and colour correcting), and Laura Mercier Hydrating (also feels like good skin care).

Have you encountered any good foundation primers?

Beautiful wishes,
Lazy silly Jacq :")

  1. Hi Jacq, can you do a review on your Media primer?

And where did you get the Parasola Essence In UV Cut Spray mentioned in this entry? http://www.beautysketchbyjacq.com/2013/08/the-week-6.html

    1. No firm promises on a separate post, but I'll try to write a few words on that. Basically it is a really light weight cream, feel comfortable on the skin (not super hydrating nor oil-controlling). The colour correcting property of my Orange one is nice, adds a bit of life to my face - also seem to be brightening and skin look 'lighter' rather than darker. Make up applies and wears good on it too!

The Parasola is purchased at Sasa!
