I've already spoken about what I'm up to recently in my previous post (empties post!) so I'll skip on that. In short, this week, my stress level was somewhat high, therefore, I did spend a few therapeutic pennies...
The Week in Acquisition
1. Ikea Furniture
Part of my pre-wedding to-do is to make Mr. A's current apartment dwell-able. Tidying, cleaning and fault-replacement take up a large part of my time. Two apartments are about an hour apart; and I'm still living at my old home. Last weekend Mr. A and I went shopping for new furnitures. Still couldn't decide on the bed, but we picked a new sofa, dining table with chairs, and, most exciting, storage for my beloved make up (and junk). I had a debate within myself, which perhaps went verbal, I have no idea, about whether I should get 1 or 2 Alex 9 drawer unit(s) $1490 HKD - US website link!. It is a very practical and chic way to store small random items, and it is a popular solution among bloggers and youtubers. [Hakme, a fellow HK blogger just filmed her make up collection/organisation video, check it out! link!] We ended up with 2 Alex because Mr. A likes spoiling me. I could possibly do an organisation blog post of some sort when I finally move all my precious into that flat - which will probably be around November...
2. Nuxe, Nars and more
Ever since I finished my previous sample of Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream - empties post link! - I have been craving for more. Finally gave in and made the splurge. Not a whole lot of money but still pretty pricey for a tube of hand cream. It retails for around $140 (all HKD) at Sasa. However, I saw this Reve de Miel Beauty Set box for $298 which also includes a Reve de Miel Face Cleansing and Make-up Removing Gel (200 ml, normally retails for around $150), Creme Fraiche 24HR Soothing and Rehydrating Fresh Mask (15 ml), and Reve de Miel Ultra Comfortable Body Cream (15 ml). This makes me a very happy customer!
Revlon GrowLuscious Lashliner "001 Onyx" is on sale for $37 so I picked that up too. I own and enjoy the brown version - featured in an FOTD link! therefore this is justified, I feel.
The Nars Opague Nail Polish "Galathée" is the only thing purchased outside Sasa, I got it from a 'secret' cosmetics store in TST where I sometimes find great deals. Paid $115 for it.
Back to my Sasa spree. Saw two tubes of the rare Scholl Rough Skin Remover, which has real pumice as the scrub particles, which is talked about in my empties link!, which is nowhere to be seen (I searched every Mannings and Watson's). $58.5 each, 60 ml.
Beauty Formulas was doing 30% off so I picked up a packet of Gentle Soft Apricot Cleansing Facial Wipes $22, 30 wipes, and a tube of Regenerating Hand Cream $16, 100 ml.
Finally, got all the below eye cream/serum samples from the generous sales assistant at that TST store. I guess I made her very happy? She certainly wanted to make me very happy with the handful of sachets too! :D From Suisse Programme Recovery Eye Gel Cream, Cellular Vital Eye Cream.
#100DaySpendingBan #take2 Update
- Starts on 1 September, ends on 9 December.
- No make up or skin care product, unless I totally run out of that category.
- To be continued next week.
Broke the ban once, but I regard that as retail therapy in need. Not too bad.
Broke the ban on 3 days.
The Week in Blog Posts
| September Journal | updated with Michael Todd Skin Care set, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream sets, and some nail polishes.
| Finished Fortnight #19 | a stressful September empties
Perfect brush to blend out eye liner. Worth every single dollar.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15
The closest thing I can find to replace my mum's long lost favourite Shiseido lip balm. She rarely ever wears colour make up, not even lipstick. Got two of these from the sets - shown here link! Gave her one, and I'm using the other one non-stop.
Must-Read of the Week
Charlotte Tilbury's eye shadow palettes all swatched by Drivel about Frivol - link! Kate successfully convinced me that I do not want nor need any of them. Great news!
Wish List Concatenation
YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation - will check this one out when I managed to visit a YSL counter, I read a brilliant rave review by a Taiwan blogger, sorry the post is in Chinese, link!
