The Week #16

Period covered: 26 October - 1 November

After acquiring nearly a dozen lipsticks in the previous week, this week is very fragrance-heavy.  Picked up two big bottles for my day & night scent, for the Big Day, respectively; and then (accidentally) went into the Victoria's Secret beauty store at IFC and splurged.  Basically, that's it!

Visiting ceramic remains at Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, right at city's centre // Tom Ford counter has officially become prohibited - dangerous gift set // This week's favourite purchase // Colour blindness test at Lancome // Rouge is the new black // Cake shop makes chestnut dessert a little festive by adding a chocolate bat // My dear evil friend at the States got me some Marc Jacobs make up - the parcel travelled over a month's span

The Week in Acquisition

1.  Loving Lancome

On the hunt of picking my wedding fragrance, which I actually have long decided mentally, I came across more red items I had to pick up.  That includes a lip cream - featured the same formula in a beautiful purple colour last year link! - and a nail polish - the brush is divine, perfect for medium to wide nails (old NOTD post of another pink shade link!).  Red is the traditional joyous and lucky colour for wedding or festivals, so I may rock this manicure.  Still deciding...

Magnifique Eau de Parfum $740 (75 ml)
L'Absolu Velours "193 Velours de Caprice" $210 (6 g)
Vernis In Love "154M Miss Coquelicot" $140 (6 ml)

Gifts: Maqui Blanc Miracle Natural Brightening Creator SPF35 / PA+++ 12H Lasting "O-01", Ô de L'Orangerie Eau de Toilette (7.5 ml), L'Absolu Rouge "365", Gloss in Love "200 Just Strass" "385 Under the Spotlight" "144 Glittermania" (0.25 g each)

2. Mavala

Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeUp made me buy it!  She listed both the Mavala MavaDry Manicure Time-Saver (use as top coat) $53 (10 ml) and MavaDry Spray (quick-drying setting spray) $59 (150 ml) in her October Favourites - youtube link!  I ran out to the nearest Sasa and picked them up.

3.  Fire & Ice

Saw the 'new' display of Revlon Super Lustrous $59, had to pick up "Fire & Ice" the legendary shade.  Creme finish.

Other things I got were Isehan Heavy Rotation Volume Lip Essence $59 (see instagram image, top of this post).  Japanese brand Isehan makes several drugstore lines of beauty products.  Out of the many, Heavy Rotation is one that I enjoy, while Kiss Me Heroine Make makes my all-time holy grail mascara(s).

Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes $11.9 (pack of 7), just feeling curious and in my basket this went...

4.  Clinique Happy

While I plan to wear Lancome Magnifique at night, I have in mind a lighter, fresher, slightly younger fragrance for the day.  Clinique "Happy" was the first that came to mind, and, why not?  Now I'm going to have a Magnificently Happy day.

My cousin who worked at the airport helped me grab this 100 ml bottle from duty free store, for $432 (~US$55).

5.  Shopped at Sogo

Another cousin, the naughty Honor (her blog link!) texted me saying she spotted the Lancome Noel 2013 Blockbuster set is available at Sogo Causewaybay.  I used the shortest time possible to go there, and snatch a big box home.  Passed by a Kanebo counter, I coincidentally have a voucher to use, and without noticing, left with another heavy bag of products, mainly Dew Superior.  #facepalm

More on this Sogo Spree in a separate post!

6.  Victoria's Secret Hong Kong

Friday, I met up with two girlfriends for lunch.  Sushi restaurant was at IFC.  After meal, I unpredictably strolled passed, and into a Victoria's Secret store.  I fell in love with certain scents and despite being loaded up with two large bottles of Magnifique and Happy, already, I managed to picked up several scents from VS.  Separate post on this!

#100DaySpendingBan #take2 Update

Rules:
- Starts on 1 September, ends on 9 December.
- No make up or skin care product, unless I totally run out of that category.
- No body or hair care product, not even perfume!
- After the ban, [100 - (days I broke the ban)] * $100 will be my bonus money to spend.  I'm thinking of something non-beauty related, perhaps something for my new flat, or a good quality hand bag...
To be continued...

Progress Update:
I am very into fragrance this month, and, I kind of justify that as I do need a scent for the wedding.  However, I did go over-board.  Therefore, new rules added to the ban!

Progress Overall:
Broke the ban on 18 days. + 5

Weekly Favourites

Isehan Heavy Rotation Volume Lip Essence - Fantastic minty gloss.  Plumps lip up a lot, which doesn't mean much to me as I have pretty big lips; however, it plumps lips up in a way that all lines disappear!  It is very soothing and comfortable on the lips.  I want to stock up on this, literally!

How was your week?  Did you 'celebrate' Halloween or All Saints/Souls Day?

November is going to be a crazy month for me: Holy Matrimony following Mr. A's birthday.  Expect me to be back fully around mid/late Nov.  I am trying to write up some scheduled post but don't have high hopes for those.. :S

Beautiful wishes,
Lazy silly Jacq :")
