Words filled in~
Girlfriend A visited Japan with a long purchase order from moi. Here's what she bought & brought back for me.
Wednesday, 3 December 2014
My aunt is visiting the kingdom of sushi later this month so I have been making a list, and checking it (more than) twice. Was also trying to attempt Blogmas, blogging every day this December until Christmas but it doesn't seem feasible with Baby showing unrest associated with teething (yes, as soon as 10 weeks! One of his lower front teeth is coming out as a white dot). At this very moment he is napping, mouth open, on my lap, while I'm typing half-handicappedly, on my iPad with the attached Logitech keyboard. Excuse any typo or funny formating, merci beaucoup.
I'll probably also do a part 2 with drugstore products, we'll see!

Baby is 10 weeks old today, while I'm typing this. It's been a while since I last typed down my labour story and baby's growth, so I decided I need to write up an update before things left my mind. Mr. A is cuddling with Baby Roma in bed at this moment so I'm allowed to enjoy the luxurious Me Time by blogging - GLAM.
By the way, all photos in this post are taken by my sister who is a freelance photographer. Go show her some love and like her facebook page!

Trying to squeeze a post out in between feedings. I don't have much time in my hand. Please excuse the messiness of the typing and high probability of typo.

I am stealing time while Baby Roma sleeps to tidy up my make up stash a bit. In recent months I have realised liquid or fluid base products are not my thing so I am trying to get rid of them.

*Super short post*
Basically, a few months ago, meowycrystal (a HKer dwelling in UK?) mentioned about the SpaceNK sale on her facebook (or elsewhere), remarking that they ship internationally. I have been wanting to give ReVive a try for a while, so I made an order. I haven't touched anything yet, but threw a few items in my hospital toiletry bag, so hopefully I can give these a try/review when I'm back home with my little one!

on index finger, 3 coats, no top coat
Been falling back in love with painting my nails so I decided to do a semi-clear out of my stash while I reconsider what to keep, what to let go, and what to buy. This first round is inspired by one colour in the OPI Nordic Collection for Fall 2014 - and it isn't even this pearly white.
While I was messing with the foamy blue-greens, I decided to throw on this Illamasqua discontinued number just to see how it look. So, here we go, #Prism Nail Varnish from Illamasqua.

two coats on pinky, no top coat
Eco Nail Color #36 Lavender is from a new-to-me display from Cyber Colors. This brand is, I believe, a Sasa-only brand.
I do not have many blues or lilacs in my current collection - I left most of my nail polishes at my parents & sisters - so this was one that I picked up to fill in gaps in my stash.

Went to meet my doctor for the 38 week check up. Baby Roma is doing very well, in position, with good size (not too big) head that looks optimistic (to be delivered naturally). Ms. OG said if I walk more, Roma may arrive this week, and if I rest more, he's still expected before the due date (week 39-40).
Despite being nervous and a little helpless (who knows when the signs and moment will come!?); I literally can't wait!

3 coats no topcoat, phone camera
Let's take a short break from sea foam greens after two consecutive posts; one dedicated to Sinful Colors #Be Happy, and another post comparing three other ones.
Tuesday, 9 September 2014
Excuse my very dry and crappy looking cuticles, and the very messy paint-job done by my left hand on my right nails. If you can look past those, then let me talk through, quickly, what I think of these polishes.
Tiffany Blue has always been the colour to chase in nail polishes. Once upon a time I owned China Glaze #For Audrey which is basically the perfect rendition. Recently I spotted a somewhat similar shade in the OPI Nordic Collection for Fall 2014, so I pulled out these bottles from my current stash to compare. I have already reviewed the newest acquisition of these all - Sinful Colors #Be Happy - so I'll skip that for this post.

This week I went in for my 37 week check-up, and Ms. OG told us two important news. One is she thinks my hip is wide enough to give birth naturally, and that she thinks Roma may come a little early (38-39 weeks) instead of 40+. Two is, she remarked about the shortness of Roma's leg relative to his week-old, average statistics and length of his mum (i.e. me). Mr. A and I have no bad feeling about this comment and we find it funny in some ways. Now my sisters are determined to stretch
Also this week, we finished the antenatal course we enrolled at our hospital. The course covered prenatal care, labour and delivery, postnatal care and how to take care of the newborn. It is definitely very introductory but the nurses and instructors (dietician, paediatric, midwife, etc) were helpful. The other 'benefit' of the course is a lot of PR samples were distributed, from diaper to wipes, chew toys to newborn underwear, baby bath to feminine wash... Now I'm pretty well stocked with baby toiletry from brands like Chicco (Italy), SebaMed (Germany) and Mustela (France).

My cousin screamed when she saw the promotional images of My Dogsled is a Hybrid, which doesn't surprise me, because this is really another rendition of the Tiffany Blue. I do own several shades similar to the Tiffany Blue, including China Glaze For Audrey (I may have given it away at some point? currently not in my possession).
Anyway, recently I saw this shade #982 Be Happy by Sinful Colors - the brand is now sold in Sasa locally - and the name, and the shade made me buy it. I happened to also have other nail polishes I wanted to swatch so I throw them on altogether.

We have 10 image-full of products for this long post. Let's not waste time in the intro, and just jump right in, shall we?

I have a hell lot of rant about my belly, I literally can scratch my stretch mark area all day long if I could; but before we jump right into the complaint, let's talk about things I enjoy currently.

In July, iHerb had a phenomenally tempting free international shipping. The only limitation was on weight, so I had to split my haul into multiple orders. Mul-ti-ple.
I promise this will be the last iHerb haul you see for a while, as my home has really ran out of space to store any more of my beauty/personal care junk. :P

I have a friend T who lives and works in the UK. She acquires limited edition make up regularly, but doesn't always keep and use them. Therefore, I do her a favour, #kindof, and sometimes help clear her stash. This time, some of the products are brand new, some are touched. I also asked her to help me get some items from the permanent line just because I want to.
She kindly threw in three eyeshadow refills which I believe are Soba, Gorgeous Gold and Cranberry - the red is not labelled, but it is different from Coppering (which I own), more red, in a similar finish.
NB: This post is very short.

Another week flew by, another week closer to receiving Mr. Roma.
This week our crib, a bunch of bottles, towels, muslins, etc arrived. I shall be packing my hospital bag in the coming week, if I am not too tired cleaning and tidying the nursery and going out for yet another consultation with my OG. For this post, let me go through some of my current skin care and personal care favourites~

With my last box coming in, in a few days time. I guess it is not a bad idea to take a look at my latest three Glamaboxes to confirm my decision of renewing my subscription or not. Being a shopaholic I am constantly acquiring new products I need or want, online or offline. I accumulate a lot of stuff. So I think a brief review on these three boxes, on whether I have or haven't tried out the content of the boxes, can in a clear way, tell whether I should continue my subscription.

This is a short and sweet haul post - I'm that lazy I only took one picture with my phone and that's it.
A longer iHerb Haul is coming up later this month, because I took advantage of the free international shipping in July... I split my orders up to qualify for free shipping (it has to be within the US $40 - $80 range), so there are many. My guard downstairs has been receiving package after package this week as they arrive consecutively. #embarrassing
Anyway, let's just quickly go through this post before I get tired typing...

I write about what I use-up and toss-away pretty frequently, with two recent long posts covering products in June and July. Being an unhealthy shopper, collector and hoarder, there is no way I can finish all things I acquire. Here I'm featuring a handful of items that didn't make the cut to stay, or to be used up to the last drop.

taken post-dinner, on 31+0 (I think)
How far along? 32 weeks.
Total weight gain/measurements: On 31+0 day, pre-dinner, I was 145 pounds (home scale, equivalent to 65.9 kg) and the widest part of my belly was 38 inch (96.5 cm). On 32+1, I am 147 ponds (home scale, equivalent to 66.8 kg)...
Friday, 1 August 2014
I tried to write about all skin care, make up and full size body product empties in the previous post, but somehow, I managed to still use up a few more in the last week of July. So here we go~
Purchased these not too long ago, on a phobia. I sprayed this on as the first step of my stretch mark routine, and it absorbs really quickly and nicely.
Okay || Repurchase? Maybe, if I ran out of anything to try after I finish the two back-up boxes of these...

Really, this is just a random post typing out what I have recently (un)intentionally purchased from Watson's and Mannings. They are the two largest drugstore chainstores here in Hong Kong - though I doubt if we do call them drugstore or pharmacy, or even, if they brand themselves as such? The real drug or medication section of these stores is limited, and not every single one has pharmacists at work. Anyway, I treat them as just another destination for my endless beauty and personal care shopping nonetheless.
Watson's vs Mannings
Out of the two, I feel like Watson's has more make up, while Mannings leans more on the skincare front. You may refer to their websites, Watson's // Mannings, for the brands they carry; but if you want me to type out a list of what I like/havebought/recommend, I may do so for you too, just comment below! Both chains make products under their own brand-name, not very attractive to me, but sometimes the cotton pads or wet wipes are really cheap and of decent quality. To be honest I do not have a preference of one over the other, except when there's special promotion or campaign going on.
One recent campaign I missed and regret missing was the 25% off open-counter make up at Watson's - similar to last year's. I really want to get myself some (more) Peripera eye crayons (featured in my latest Korean haul), Kate eye shadow palettes (the listed price of $110+ is a little high), and etc...
*Update: the past weekend there's another round of this 25% off, so I grabbed some items, Hurray!*
Mannings tends to do certain stamp-collection campaign every now and then, you spend certain amount, get some stamps, reach certain number then redeem gifts. Sometimes the gifts are duds, sometimes not too value-worthy to redeem, and sometimes surprisingly real bargain. Currently they're doing some Thermos thermal cups along with other appliances. Unpurposely now that I have enough stamps for redemption, I am considering getting a Thermos cup or pot...

For some reason - mainly my obsession over procrastination - the pile of beauty trash kept piling up since my last empties, and no one (i.e. me) went to tackle it... When I finally dig these out and photograph I realise there are too plenty I have to cut into two posts.
Anyway~ Let's cut this meaningless introduction short, and jump straight into the empties, shall we?
REN Hydra-Calm Cleansing Gel
Got a bunch of these from Glamashop in order to use up my points. Only adequate for about 2 uses. Very watery.
Will I repurchase? No.
REN Mayblossom and Blue Cypress Facial Wash
Friday, 25 July 2014
I haven't been applying make up properly mainly due to the extremely high temperature and humidity, and also because my face has grown into a funny inflated round shape I'm not very fond of making-up. Another reason may be me tired of taking pictures and importing them into my computer then picking the ones I like - I always shoot dozens and can only pick less than a handful...
That being said, I still wanted to post some kind of Face Of The Day because I have acquired a lot of new goodies in the past few months and a lot of them are great stuff. I also understand FOTD is not FOTD without showing one's face so please excuse the selfies you're going to see after the break. I hope this post will serve as a brief rundown of what were on my face with short reviews, that's it.

three consecutive lines with one 'turn' amount of product
Around the same time, two Kose 'drugstore' brands have their representation refreshed locally. The Fasio line, with their re-branded products, is down-sized at Sasa. I only spotted their eye products and some sunscreens, and I got their mascaras at our first encounter (picture here, I later got the third variation of their mascaras too).
Another line Visee, found our shore as the first spot outside Japan to have official stands and point of sales. I have made many trips to Sasa playing with their products, and three with successful purchases, the first being the largest (pictured here, here and here). I have a feeling Visee's launch in HK is the most exciting beauty news to me this year - Laduree doesn't tickle me (now at Sogo), and Albion I haven't yet get my hands on (also at Sogo, I probably have to visit them next year?)
Anyway, back to the focus of this post, is the Fasio dupe of Benefit's new heavily publicised gel liner with twist-up mechanism. I accidentally picked up the brown BR300 instead of the black BK001. The plastic stopper, dispenser tip and overall size of the gel liner is basically the same. If you fancy giving this fancy idea of applying liner a try, I totally recommend getting the Fasio instead of the Benefit. See more pictures after the jump break~

It's been, surprisingly, 5 weeks since my last update! This past month I've been evolving from a human into a Koala-phant, and began my real battle against stretch mark...
How far along? 30 weeks.
Total weight gain/measurements: At 28+6, I weighed myself before seeing the OG, at the hospital I usually go to, and I was 65 kg. At 29+4, I went to another clinic with my mum (her consultation, not mine) and I weighed 65.7 kg. I am probably around 66 kg now..?

(Do we look like Chanel Illusion d'Ombre and MAC eye shadows?)
Sprays and mists
Compared to the haul I remote-controlled my family to get me this past January, I'd call this June spree conservative, relatively. For instance, I tried hard not to get brands that are available in HK (I still failed but did pretty well, I think...) I've decided to break this post up by product categories instead of by brand, for the amusing reason that I think I consciously, or sub-consciously only allowed myself to focus on several categories of items... You can be the judge of whether you see my 'logical' pattern of selecting products...
For all the things I purchased (and received for free) including what I've already sent out to my dear friends and family, you may refer to the album I took at the hotel right after I shopped - I'll skip the equally plenty gifts and samples in this post.
One thing (only, I think) that I've bought for myself but have forgotten to picture in this post is the Hanyul Ja Woon Dan Moisturizing Cure Balm which already lives in my purse as an intensive lip treatment.

I've been eyeing two new-to-me brands for their eyeshadows for a while. Not that I need any more eyeshadows in my life, but I'm always vulnerable to be tempted by good neutrals (and colourfuls). What drove me even more crazy was, when I was browsing and researching on these two brands of eyeshadow, both of them were sold out/ out of stock. Hence, I made a decision to get them once they come back in stock, one brand first, then the other in the next month - if I still want that.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with either of these companies, and I did not use affiliated links in this post. Images used were taken from their websites.
Zoeva is a German brand recently popular amongst bloggers and vloggers, mainly for their make up brushes. They do individual and set brushes that resemble MAC, or Sigma. I have not tried any of them, but some sets they do look very similar to way cheaper ones I saw on Taobao (the Chinese ebay). For instance, this bamboo and that bamboo; this vegan and that vegan. Zoeva also sells make up on their website, and same as their brushes, most of them do not list their origins; not to mention that a few of their bigger palettes look just like the nostalgic Coastal Scents ones, which are also widely available on Taobao.
Makeup Geek is founded by a youtuber/blogger, based in USA. They started making products under their own name a few years ago, including lipsticks (now gone?), pigments (I'm tempted!), makeup brushes, eyeshadows and blushes (most recent) with the pan/refill dimension just like MAC does. [26mm round eyeshado pan are also made by Make Up Atelier Paris, ELF, Coastal Scents, etc] Compared to MAC, MUG is more affordable, and from the reviews I read and watched, the quality of MUG seems to be quite consistent across the line, and given their reasonable pricing, it has attracted a lot of followers.
As mentioned in the beginning, I'm trying to decide on one of these two brands to venture out, in terms of their eye shadows. Below will be the info I've collected so far, to help me make the purchase. Tell me in the comments below which one you guess I've ordered!?!?

Last week was a turmoil.
Coming back from Seoul, our delicious vacation - above only shows about one-third of what we ate in four days - followed by several days meeting family and shopping, I went in to meet my OG for the 24 week check. Baby Roma leg-bone-length (total layman term) and head-size meet the no. of weeks, however, the position of it is a little low in my abdomen (per my understanding). Although I do not have other signs like bleeding or tummy-cramp (professional term again), my doctor still order me to rest in bed for 3 days. I do not know if she added this advice as a fellow woman, or as a pro-practitioner, but she said I should avoid "cold" food such as soymilk (it is a Chinese medical concept to distinguish food into "warm" or "cold").
Such prescription meant I stayed home for an extended weekend with minimal walking or sitting and plenty of sleep and iPad activities (I also started with a puzzle we got from the Vatican). I did sneaked out for breakfasts with Mr. A and to attend mass on Sunday. But all in all, the 3 (which later turned into 4) days of "imprisonment" were home-bound.
How far along? 25 weeks.
Total weight gain/measurements: Right before meeting my OG, at 24 weeks, I was 61.7 kg. I guess I'm over 62 now? Yes I don't trust the vintage balance we have at home.

I may or may not be addicted to iHerb... It doesn't help with my suspected addiction when family & friends request me to help them make purchases. Around mid-May there's a 20% off Real Techniques and 2 girls asked me to get them certain brushes; without a doubt, I made an order of reasonable size on top of their requests...
Let's start from the more recent delivery, shall we?
Sunday, 1 June 2014
This month, my cousin and I had a little Empties Competition, kind-of. We both own too many beauty products, and one thing we desperately like to do is to buy more and newer ones. The prime purpose of me calling this game is I need some incentive to do face masks more frequently, especially the sheet ones. Heaven knows I have how many sheets (and tubes) in my stash!
Anyway, these pictures were taken on 27th May, so there are still 4 days of empties (probably one or two more masks and some sunscreen samples) to be brought over to next month. I will include Honor's link if she make a post, but for now, you can also check out her blog.
The order of this post will be Skin Care -> Make Up -> Body & Hair -> Random -> Tossed & His. And I'm trying to go back to a simpler rating 'system' Black Jacq -> Hurray -> Okay -> No Way... Let's see how long this post will take to be typed out...

Out of the ten hit pan posts I've done, powder foundation tops the chart. This is the fifth compact foundation to be featured! Despite owning dozens of liquid foundation, bb creams and such, my most often daily make up routine only calls for concealer and powder foundation. The main reason is I can handle these two steps in commute at ease...
It seems a perfect timing for me to review this beaut right before my Korean trip this coming weekend. I got this back in my 2011 visit to Seoul. It's been three full years, and I am finally half-done with this!
