Back in late October, early November, this set was promoted in magazines, multiple of magazines. Compared to the other Holiday collections (I remembered looking at Cle de Peau Beaute, MAC, Tom Ford, etc) and the other blockbuster (Estee Lauder), this is the most affordable and 'sophisticated' option. Without much thoughts, and with much fear that this will run out in no time, I picked this up at the Sogo counter, Causeway Bay. Honor was there with me, and she/we calmly decided on just two items to buy to make up the amount needed to redeem this set.
Little Disclaimer: This has been chez moi for a good few months, yet with the wedding and holidays interrupting, I have not played with these yet. This post is more like a show-and-tell sans first impression.
What I Bought
|sorry, the hue of this picture is quite off...|
LANCOME Vernis in Love "171B LoveRed" $140 (6 ml)
LANCOME Teint Miracle Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfection "O-01" $340 (10 g, Japan) and Teint Miracle Slim Compact $100
I thought I would paint my own nails for the wedding, therefore I acquired several red nail polishes (another Lancome one called Miss Coquelicot). Turned out I had my nails very short, due to breakage and anxious trimming by self, painted professionally.
The foundation compact is a recommendation from Honor. It has SPF 20 and PA ++. In view of the majority of my real hit pans or make up empties are compacts, aside from mascaras, why not give this a try?, I thought. It is actually pretty decent, and I especially appreciate the dual-sided sponge that comes in the compact.
The Beauty Set
I paid $620 for this big red box. Outside, on the back, all information of the content is printed nicely. Inside there are 1 big case and 1 small brush roll, fully packed with products. I love the bright saturated red design of this blockbuster, and it is a perfect good-looking set to gift, whether to oneself or one's beloved.

The Make Up
The eye-catcher of this set to different individuals may be different. To me, aside from the bright red case and certain skin care, to be discussed below, the full size BB cream, eye shadow palette, and cheek palette are definitely the winning products. I do not have much luck with high end mascaras, Asian or Western brands, but it is still nice to have a full size of waterproof mascara to try out.
Mini Crayon Khol Noir (0.7 g, Czech Republic)
UV Expert GN-Shield BB Complete "01" SPF 50 PA+++ (30 ml, France)
Rouge In Love Asian Expertise "132M Corail In Love" (3.9 g, Japan)
Gloss In Love "385 Under the Spotlight" (4.5 ml, France)
Gloss In LOve "323 Pink Carat" (4.5 ml, France)
Hypnose Doll Eyes 5 Color Palette Wide Eyes (2.7 g, France)
Blush Subtil Palette "01" (4.5 g, Canada)
Hypnose Star Waterproof "01 Noir Midnight" (6.5 ml, France)

In a small brush roll, the pretty little red pouch in the top right corner of the first picture, there lies three short travel brushes. No.1 Powder Brush, No.2 Foundation Brush and No.11 Large Eyeshadow Brush are all made with wooden handle and painted in black with gold brand name and logo printed. These, together with the big vanity case and the brush roll, are all made in China. I have touched and felt them; they feel soft and well-made. I haven't yet washed and used them yet, though.
The Skin Care & Perfume
The money I paid for this set will be roughly the same as just the BB cream and the Bi-Facil themselves, both of which I long to own. BB cream for the first time, Bi-Facil a repeat. Bi-Facil is one of the best bi-phase make up removers to take off stubborn waterproof eye make up, e.g. my Heroine Make mascaras. Genifique has been nice to my skin before, and more samples of those are welcomed. Not to speak there's even a little Genifique Yeux!
Bi-Facil Sensitive Eyes Instant Cleanser (125 ml, France)
Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector (7 ml, France)
Genifique Yeux Light-Pearl Eye-illuminating Youth Activator (5 ml, France)
Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate (7 ml, France)
La Vie Est Belle EDP (4 ml, France)

Have you got any Holiday special sets or singles from 2013? Did you buy it yourself (like I did), or receive it from your friends or family as gift? ;)
And... if you've read till here, drop a comment below with what you'd like to try out most from this set. If there are significant number of comments (say, 10?) I will draw a random winner and let her/him get what she/he wants.
