Rapid Review | Illamasqua #Prism

on index finger, 3 coats, no top coat

Been falling back in love with painting my nails so I decided to do a semi-clear out of my stash while I reconsider what to keep, what to let go, and what to buy.  This first round is inspired by one colour in the OPI Nordic Collection for Fall 2014 - and it isn't even this pearly white.

While I was messing with the foamy blue-greens, I decided to throw on this Illamasqua discontinued number just to see how it look.  So, here we go, #Prism Nail Varnish from Illamasqua.

Colour-wise it is a near translucent yellow-pearl base with a very fine blue sheen.  The website describes it as SHEER IRIDESCENT BLUE, which is also true.  I find it hard to achieve an impression on its own.  I applied 3 to 4 coats to see the colour well.  Perhaps it would be lovely to layer on top of something else.

Texture is good, spreads well and doesn't take forever to dry.  Brush applicator is mediocre, nothing special.

Retailed at £14.50, I don't find this colour necessary for me.

Do you own any sheer nail polishes?  How do you use them?

Beautiful wishes,
