Empties 2015 | Summer Edition

Three months worth of empties is driving me crazy.  I took pictures by the end of April, May and early-July.  However, except for the few days just post-pictures-taken, my empties basket is always crowded.  This second quarter of 2015 has been major.  So let's jump right in, and if you read till the end of this unhealthily long post, leave me a comment and say cheers :D - I'd really appreciate that.

Lactacyd Revitalize Daily Feminine Wash - Okay.  Repurchased the White one.

Gatsby Cool Shock Deodorant Roll-On #Fresh Marine - His.  Love.  Repurchase, yes.

Fa Natural & Pure Deo Roll-On #Rose Flower - Love.  Might be discontinued.  Currently using spray type as I'm more sweaty than ever.  Or maybe it's the weather.

Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo - His.  Love.  Smells very manly but doesn't linger too long.  Mr. A said this makes his hair grows like none other shampoos, lengthwise, not noticeably amount-wise... Repurchased 4 bottles, in use.

Afforests Peppermint & Eucalyptus Body Wash - Nice.  Will go back to this if ever I have body acne.

Naruko Taiwan Magnolia Cleansing Oil (old/reformulated) - It stung my eye, probably because it expired.  Ended up using this as a shower oil, like you would with L'Occitane Almond.  Lush.

Eco Cosm.Ethic Body Lotion

Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes (link to buy) - Doesn't purify or cleanse much.  I still believe that, some micellar water with cotton can do everything wipes do, if not better.  Yet, this smells like refreshing coconut, real ones, pleasant ones.  Will repurchase for this reason.

Purevivi Cleansing Lotion - Japanese drugstore take on micellar water.  Very affordable and works brilliantly.  Nothing bad to say about it.  Need to go through my gallons of Bioderma before buying any micellar water...

Synergie Uberzinc - A purely physical (metal oxides) sunblock.  Doesn't adhere to skin, nor absorb very well.  The packaging also sucked, especially considering its price-point.  I do not know if they've reformulated or repackaged this stuff, but I do not bother to find out.

Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover - Love.  Removes waterproof makeup swiftly.  Price is reasonable compared to Lancome or Helena Rubinstein (my other two high-end favourites).

Helenere Maitrise du Temps Intensive Treatment - Full review.  Holy grail.

Royal Medic CS4 Cordyceps Capsules - To be frank I'm finding the capsules a bit fishy and cause nauseousness.

Madre Labs Omega 3 Premium Fish Oil (link to buy) - This is the slightly cheaper one - there's a very similar product in blue bottle - and so far I can only read from the label that the yellow softgels are from gelatin (not stated source) and blue softgels are from fish gelatins.

Aromatheraphy Associates Relax Candle - Not particular fond of this scent.

Ecover Stain Remover (link to buy) - Granted, we don't have much stain to remove recently chez maison Jacq hence I mixed this in with our washing powder or detergent in washing load.

Clinique Makeup Brush Cleanser - Not effective, not good.

Jimmbenny Tea Tree Cooling Conditioner - Mr. A's second last bottle.  If you have any good suggestion for light, cooling, invigorating conditioner for men's hair, please recommend below.

La Roche Posay Serozinc - Not bad but too difficult to get hold of.  I have replaced this with Bioderma Sensibio Eau Dermatologique (instagram pic) which Caroline Hirons also recommends (her post).

La Bottega Bath Foam Lait de Figue

Melvita Extra-Rich Hand Cream - Despite the name, this is only medium in thickness and nourishment.  Not bad for day time.  The lavender scent is soothing.

Lierac Les Sensorielles Shower Gel - Is totally gorgeous.  If they sell this in Sasa I may buy myself a big one.  When I go through my stock of shower gels.  For sure.

Sebamed Feminine Intimate Wash - Okay.

MAC Pro Eye Makeup Remover - Can't take off my waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Used it up by taking off swatches on my hands and arms.

Yojiya (Kyoto) Water Mist (brand info) - This brand is famous of their 'geisha-beauty-secret' oil blotting sheets.  I barely have the need to use any and do not have the habit to carry them around.  However, last time, when I saw this pure water mist at Tokyo airport when we were returning, I grabbed it - along with the yuzu lip balm and make up sponge.  This is pure water and the content is really basic; the size of the bottle is really handy and the dispenser is great though.  I have also used up the refill it came in.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Foaming Gel

Dr. Wu Mandelic Acid Toner - Mild acid toner.

MyChelle Creamy Pumpkin Cleanser (link to buy) - The texture and scent is a little bit unconventional.  I should probably give this a go in Winter but it still worked in Summer.

Ren Mayblossom T Zone Control Cleansing Gel

Curel UV Protection Face Milk
Prof. TK Mandelic Acid Renewal Toner
Picobooster Mask
Neostrata Facial Cleanser 4 PHA

Naruko Facial SPA Massage Cotton Pads - Very good.  Use this to apply toner or lotion or emulsion.

The Body Shop Organic Cotton Pads - This is the large square with rounded corners.  I like how big they are.  Very convenient no matter it is used to remove make up, masks or to apply anything.  Quite pricey but worth a try.  If I happen to make a proper TBS purchase in the future I may throw a bag of this in my cart.

Faith in Face hydrogels are awesome.  Highly recommend.
Oracle and Innisfree I don't remember.
SNP Animal masks are great.  A little overhyped but for the price (don't pay over hkd $20 for one) it is pleasantly hydrating and a joy to use.  See them in action on my face (instagram pic).

More masks from My Beauty Diary, White Formula, Envie de Neuf.

Kao Steam Eye Mask #Unscented

Kao Goodnight Heating Pad for Back #Lavender - Might not be the best for the hot months but I know this will be a charm when weather turns cooler.

Various samples from Lancome, Cle de Peau, Giorgio Armani, Glamourflage, Orlane, Whoo - Ask me if you want to know what they are.

Samples I love and will consider repurchase.

Dr. Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel - ADORE this stuff.  When I go through my current acid peeling pads I will buy a box of this to stand by.  So convenient and the step 2 really calms and soothes the skin.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa - Nice fragrance.  Great hydrating sleeping mask.

Apivita Express Beauty with Carrot - Apivita makes me fall in love with creamy face masks once again.
Apivita Express Beauty with Prickly Pear

Clinique Repairwear Lasser Focus - great texture and skin texture and tone looks great when I'm using this continuously.

Royal Medic CS4 Cordyceps Capsules

Wyeth Materna - I guess I will have to continue this stuff until end of 2016. So many more months to go!

Bluebonnet Calcium Magnesium Zinc Softgels (link to buy) - Bought it when I had serious cramps during my first pregnancy.  But I didn't take it at all.  Made Mr. A finished it.

Tossed - two old toners from AMPM and Naruko, a Whoo cream and a Johnson's thick balmy stick.  Also threw away couple other things I didn't photograph, now no longer remember.

Skin Care~

Biore UV Aqua Rich - Only half done, and this is my 'back-up' tube from a while ago.  It is a great one for dry or dehydrated skin, or if you stay mostly in air-conditioned environment.  I feel like I'm sweating 24/7 (due to monster Roma and changes in my body?) and this is too much for me.  I figure SPF will lose their effectiveness over time and if I'm going to invest and switch up any part of my skincare wardrobe, then SPF is the way to go.

Naruko Tea Tree and Oil Out Treatment - This is definitely repackaged, and perhaps also reformulated.  It has a similar consistency of the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (which didn't work wonders on me).  However, Mario said just take the paste at the bottom, and Naruko said shake it all up before application.  Don't know if this makes the difference, but while Mario didn't work wonders, Naruko didn't work at all.  This was again, half empty.

Dove 3in1 Cleansing Foam (not sure of the name) - An impulse purchase at Mannings, this may be one of the Asian exclusives.  Probably made in Japan (unimportant?) this is light, clarifying, toning and not drying.  Washes that come in foaming bottle like this do run out very quickly though.  Probably won't repurchase although I did enjoy it very well.

Aqua Label White Clear Foam - When this brand decided to leave Sasa, most of the stock was on 50% clearance.  I grabbed some and gifted them away - stupid impulse buyer - but I keep tubes of this stuff.  My neck has always been darker and rougher than my face because I never exfoliate nor sun-protect my neck.  Used this to wash my neck, back of my neck and the decollete quite frequently and although I didn't see skin lightened/whitened, it seems to be smoother now.

Dr. Wu Intensive Anti Wrinkle Serum with Botolift - Nothing special.  Light clear gel texture, nice on the skin but effect, I don't see.

BRTC Vitalizer Fluid Multi Vital 10 - Also nothing remarkable.

Nuxe Fondant Cleansing Gel - Nuxe makes many beautiful scented skin care.  This milk-gel wash is one of them.  YES.

Suqqu Whitening Concentrate & Suqqu Bounce Barrier Cream - The packaging is bland, there is no fragrance, and these mini foil samples can hardly give any results.  BUT.  I love their texture and am very tempted to try more of their skin care.  Not sure if I'm ready to shell out the cash any time soon though.  Luckily I'm not planning a trip to Japan in near future.

Kiko Nail Polish Remover Travel Wipes - Very convenient and did the job.  Highly recommend if you're travelling.

Prija Vitalising Shower Gel and Shampoo with Ginseng - Hotel stuff from Assisi, smells woody and very sexy.  I like it much.

Rexona Women Pure Silver Crystal - It's been so hot and I've been so sweaty I've turned back to aerosols.  This smells good and works all day and doesn't leave a mark or stain on garments.  Score.

Reviva Labs Glycolic Acid Facial Toner (link to buy) - Not lying, I bought this because I wanted to tackle the pigmentation and unevenness of my arm pit.  Stopped using this for a while I was pregnant and recently dug this out.  Decided it is too old, should be discarded.  It is a non-stinging acid toner.

Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo - Didn't work on my current hair loss issue - which is post-partum not menopause.

Philip B Peppermint & Avocado Shampoo - It said leave on the scalp for a minute or two before rinsing out, and it does a very great job in cooling and invigorating.  Love this stuff.

Nivea Men Dry Impact - His.  His complaint was this was used up way too soon, sooner than other brands, e.g. Gatsby.

Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo - His.  He likes this and we have couple of back ups.

Aleva Sleep Easy Hair & Body Wash (link to buy) - Baby's.  Will forever repurchase because if anything helps him sleep better, I'm all in.

Royal Medic CS4 Cordyceps Capsules

Kao Steam Eye Mask #Unscented

Mannings Super Soft Facial Cotton - Affordable with good quality.  Mainly used to remove my make up by soaking in bi-phase removers or micellar water.

Nordic Naturals Prenatal DHA (link to buy) - Will be repurchasing until end of 2016.  I am afraid.

Yojiya (Kyoto) Water Mist - the refill.
