One Package Unboxed | 12 Lipsticks Emerged

If you're not new to my blog, chances are, you've already read a swap or two between me and Sam from UK.  She no longer keeps a blog or twitter but we still connect via facebook and instagram.  From time to time we like to send each other packages of goodies because we ourselves want to be treated as well.  Here I show the latest gorgeous package Sam put together for me.  Thank you, my adopted sister~

First of all, there's a little tub of Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm.  I have used it just several times mainly for the scent and to test it out so I haven't formed a proper opinion as of yet.  First impression is, although it doesn't smell as good as I imagined (too much raves on youtube perhaps?), it really smells beautiful.  The packaging really has its flaws with oils leaking into the lid and in between the layers of the pot.  Under our weather, always 30 Celcius +, it is a melted thick oil in the pot.  I guess perhaps it will be more user-friendly in a tube with squeezing or pumping mechanism?

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow might just be the prettiest packaged contour and highlight palette in my stash.  I do not bronze often (only when my foundation is clearly a few shades lighter than I wanted) and tend to use bronzers to add shadows (need to slim down my ever-so-much rounder post-partum face).  I know, bronzers with golden, orange, or warm tones are less 'natural' than cool greyish tone when creating shadows.  However, with my rather yellow East Asian skin tone, and mediocre application skills, warmer bronzers are more forgiving and flattering.  Anyway, this CT offering has a review of being not too warm nor too grey, and the highlight is beautiful - I will give this some thorough testing and report back how I like it.  Oh.  And of course I have to get the CT Powder & Sculpt Brush - doesn't it just look like the perfect shape and size for everything?

Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette #The Dolce Vita and Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution #Sexy Sienna I'm planning to talk about in a separate post, or posts.  Needless to say, they are gorgeous high quality pieces I can't take my eyes/hands off them!

Samples, Kiko, Rimmel and more
Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation #4 Fair - With more than a handful of this foundation perhaps my itch of getting a full tube can stop a while.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream - I'll wait till the cold dry season to try this out.  Sounds heavenly for dry skin.

Rituals Sun Protection Face Cream SPF30

Rimmel Good To Glow Highlighter #003 Soho Glow - Because Lisa Eldridge said yes, we cannot say no.

Milani Illuminating Face Powder #03 Beauty's Touch - 10 grams of rosy pretty gorgeousness, this is supposed to be highlighter, bronzer and blush.

Kiko Intensive Hand Gloves - Hydrating and smoothing for a full-time mum's hands and nails.  Very much in need.

I have no idea why my forearm can look so daringly green and ghost-like.  (Actually I didn't bother adjusting...) So please bear with my rough swatches.  From left:

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate #32 is a light peach.  Probably because my lips are on the pigmented side, this looks more peachy orange than peachy nude.  Very young and Summery, perfect for the current heat!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate #101 is a pale neutral pink.  The swatch above is cooler due to my poor skills.  These red tubes of 'Matte' version of Lasting Finish are just a notch less shiny than the black tubes.  Black tubes are creamy sheen, while red tubes are creamy satin.  The formula is smooth and comfortable on the lips (same as original Lasting Finish).  It delivers a good load of pigment and feels thin and moisturising.  #101 doesn't have a glaring bright base so it doesn't make lips look floating on the face.   Also as it is not cool tone, it sits pretty nicely on my complexion.  Although sans make up I still look quite sick with such pale lips.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate #107 is a gorgeous rich berry red.  It is the matter version of Sleek Cosmetics #Cherry (Sheen).  Gerard Cosmetics #Cherry Cordial is more black. MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick #Lush Life is cooler (more purple).  Media Creamy Lasting Lip A #DR03 is ever so slightly darker and the closest match next to Sleek #Cherry.  Oh, and Lasting Finish Matte, red tubes, have the same fragrance as Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer.

Kiko Velvet Mat Lipstick #605 is a medium muted orange-red.  Close to Clinique Chubby Stick Intense #Heftiest Hibiscus (compared amongst an armful of orange-reds previously) in tone and depth but definitely different in finish.  The formula is amazing.  Smooth, non-drying, pigmented, not accentuate flaky bits and beautifully matte.  The packaging is a little on the redundantly bulky side but pretty nonetheless.  The cut of the bullet also facilitates precise and easy application.  Probably my second favourite lipstick from all I've received in this package (the first being CT Sexy Sienna).

Kiko Velvet Mat Lipstick #602 is the same beautiful cookie dough scented formula as the orange 605 above.  It is nearly the same depth and tone of my natural lip colour, but nuder and muter.  Very pretty and I love it to pieces.

Motives Moisture Rich Lipstick #Inevitable has a satin-metallic finish, with high concentration of fine pale gold shimmer.   The base is a medium warm rosy pink.  It will make the lips look giant thick.

Revlon ColorBurst Lipstck #075 Peach is, as the name suggests, a juicy peach colour.  This formula is a moisturising, comfortable one.  The finish is creamy with some shine.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick #08 is a gorgeous nude for Asian colourings.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick #080 One of a Kind is along the line with MAC Up the Amp and Nars Dominique - medium purple that is prone to make one look sick or dead.  I love this kind of colour once weather is cooler and I dare to go darker and goth-er (using this word very roughly).

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick #077 Asia is a hint darker and a tad shinier than Kate LF 08.  Also a very flattering nude for light/medium Asian skin tones.

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick #620 Coral Queen may be my favourite out of these 7.  Moisture Renew has a lipstick scent but not the cherry medicine scent of Lasting Finish.  It is slightly more hydrating and also slightly less pigmented than Lasting Finish.  Key point: this coral is bold, bright, brilliant and beautiful.  Score!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush #Blushing Bride isn't as light as my pictures shows.  In fact, it reminds me of Nars Goulue in the Guy Bourdin palette a lot.  Blushing Bride is definitely more matte without shimmer, and a bit more powdery and less pigmented than Goulue.

Hope you enjoy this post, and keep your finger crossed I can come up with the CT eyeshadow and/or lipstick post(s)!

Beautiful wishes,
Lazy silly Jacq :")
