Pregnant with Monster #2 | 27 Weeks Already!

Mentioned here (this blog!) and there on Instagram/Snapchat (both: jacqlibra), I've been pregnant for quite some time.  In fact, I am closer to delivery than baby's conception now - kind of amazed by how swift it progressed!

Baby #2 is expected in 2nd March, which will be in the year of the Monkey, hence for convenience sake, let's call him that for the time now.  We (I) have basically decided on his first name, but not his middle name and Chinese name.  #feelingchallenged

This pregnancy was similar to my previous in terms of no major illness (thank God no morning sickness) with the exception of one quite bad flu which I've opted for doctor and drugs he prescribed (I stopped once the symptoms are bearable).  However, looking after one strong monster (now 14 month old) while growing one inside me is kind of a mission.  Kudos to all the mums out there who have the bravery to make more than one baby.  It is intense.

How far along?  27 weeks.

Total weight gain/measurements:  26 week check up, I was 67 kg.  (Approximately, according to my poor memory.)  I have no interest to keep track of my weight gain or bump measurements.  I kind of only know I still fit in my UK size 10 garments.  I do also have grown in my feet size - am officially a size 41 and could be still growing...

Maternity clothes:  Placed several orders off Next (website), and ASOS.  Next ships directly from UK and the price is much more affordable than the local stores - the local stores may only sell kids stuff anyway.  ASOS, on the other hand, has way more styles to pick from, but the price is higher, and I only shop from them when there's a sale, like 20% off.  I also like browsing the maternity department at AEON (Japanese department store), for I need undergarments as well as other necessity.  AEON stocks more laid-back and casual style - which fit my lifestyle but not everyone's.  My current favourites include over-the-bump leggings (these) from Next, and lounge pants (I got both colours) from New Look.

Stretch marks:  In fact, as my bump grows, the stretch marks from my previous pregnancy kind of blurs out.  It is probably due to the re-stretching concealing the fact that they are loose skin.  I do not notice any new lines from this pregnancy.

Sleep:  Pretty well through-out these months.  Thanks to Monster Roma who is restless in the day time and generally peaceful at night; I am well exercised and exhausted every day, and usually sleep well through the night.  Recently though, I have been getting a couple cramps in the morning, and that wakes me up sooner than I wanted, but compared to last time, much more bearable.

Best moment:  1) Knowing Monkey is a boy?  I am more and more happy that the two children will be of same gender.  To me, now, at least, it seemed a more manageable gift from God.
2) Having hairy crabs twice this Autumn/Winter.  #spoiltdaughterinlaw
3) Weather finally showing some signs of cooling down.  It is currently, usually, below 25 degree day/night.

Miss anything?  Carrying Roma without feeling too tired.  Oh how I miss cuddling with him without my big bump.

Movement:  Intensive.  Extensive.  Monkey is as restless in my belly as his elder brother.

Food cravings:  Not much.  Maybe chocolate now and then.

Anything making you queasy or sick?  .

Gender:  Boy.  We're hinted about this way back in August but we waited till October to accept this.  Mr. A has not-so-secretly wanted a girl but I'm neutral.

Labour signs:  Nil

Symptoms:  Not much.

Belly button in or out?  More out than in.

Wedding rings on or off?  Off.

Happy or moody most of the time:  Happy.

Looking forward to:  Christmas!  And, receiving my Charlotte Tilbury Christmas set, and other make up goodies from UK.  Superficial.  Shallow.  Meh.
