I asked for these holiday lipglosses (on sale) from Sam, my UK blogger friend and swap buddy, after seeing them in her post. I sent her the little Nail Inc. giftcard and some sheet masks for return. I'm happy to see some leopard-print Nail Rock nail wraps as well as false nails with leopard-printed designs! Sam does know me very well!

Also, my friend/sweetheart Ms. A lent me a few bottles of Deborah Lippmann nail polish (no swatches yet), while at the same time gifted me a tube of Burberry lipstick tester. Happy!!!!!!

Continuing with my previous Empties post, I'm gonna share what are being used up in February! I will begin with Skin Care, then move on to Body and Hair stuff; saving the juicy Make Up and Perfume for the next post (as they should be a tiny bit more exciting!). Around the middle of February I was getting back on my routine of doing sheet masks regularly, so I have decided to throw in the sheet masks as well!

Review: Haus of Gloi Sweet Rosa

First of all, sorry to scare you with such a huge lips as the intro pic; and even more apologies because my 'sorry' wasn't quite sincere! XD Don't you like my lips? :")

Haus of Gloi is an 'indie' kind of bath and body products company. It makes a lot of great stuff, at least for those I've tried - so far so impressive! In this post I would like to talk about this particular lip balm first, while in the next one I may touch on the scrubs and body butter, etc; please read on!

I made 2 orders off Naruko, and 1 from UNT.

春節時，女友人幫我從寶島帶回了（大量）網購戰利品。我對衣服、飾物的興趣「麻麻」（普普），買的都是護膚／指彩等。。這篇基本上只是＜開箱文＞，很多我都沒有開始用，大家就當看看圖吧！ :P

Although I am a (sick) skin care junkie, there is no way I open everything and try all at the same time, hence I'm just gonna list out things I got, and perhaps a few reasons why I put them in my (virtual) shopping basket in the first place. I'll go through everything from Naruko and then move on to UNT... :P

Inventory#10: Nail Polish Remover 洗甲／去光水清點

This could be the shortest "Inventory" post. Although I still have much more than an acceptable amount, this stashsize is already the effort after many months of using instead of buying - (with the exception of the new UNT one)... FYI, I share my nail polishes and removers with my mum, and sister(s).

Also, I'll be trying to incorporate Chinese-English in one post (with the label NICAM), please tell me if you have any comments on this.

Foreword: Christmas is not a shopping/gift holiday to me, it is indeed a Christian's celebration and I do celebrate it.

Most of these gifts are not exactly 'to me'. Whenever my mum or sisters receive skin care/ beauty items that they won't use, they just re-direct them to me. On the other hand, if I got food or garments or anything that doesn't work for me, I just share with them. I love my big warm family!

Inventory#9: Face Primer/ Make Up Base

Yay! Finally going to do inventory check on my make up stash, starting with Make Up Primers! (I treat my MAC Stash a brand inventory, instead of 'per category') Before you read on, just wanna remind you, up there in my 'Pages' there's a tab for "Inventory/My Stash" where I list all of my inventory posts. Go take a look if you're interested!

I don't use primers every time I do make up, and honestly, I don't wear face make up everyday. However, whenever I do proper make up, e.g. for dinner, photo-taking, parties, etc, I usu. try to apply a layer of base before I do my foundation. And in general, I like my moisturising primers more than silicon-y smooth-out-pore kind of primers. Anyway, here they are:

First Impression: Clinique Derma White Foundation

A while ago, I grew bored in a Bonjour (a beauty chain/drugstore similar to Sasa), which sells 'not-for-sale' beauty samples at decently cheap price. I saw this Derma White foundation sample in Cream Beige and was instantly drawn. I have pretty normal to fair skin tone, which is how the common HK foundation samples are made in. I suspect it is actually 1 or 2 shades lighter than the usual HK/Chinese customers, but because everyone like to be/look paler, the general sample they hand out is my skin tone - does it make sense?

Anyway, after I got home I immediately swatched this on my face and hand against one of my holy grails, Clinique Supermoisture in shade Cream Beige. And here are the comparsion:

Inventory#7: Cleansing Milk, Cream and Balm

Milk cleansers are the weakest and most gentle cleanser to my skin. Often when I'm having troubles, e.g. really dry irritated flaky unhappy skin, I turn to them. They don't remove make up very effectively, if I use them for my face make up, I need to tissue them off, and do maybe 2 rounds.

Creams, on the other hand, is slightly thicker than the milk relatives, and cleanses better, even moisturises better! Hence I over-stocked a little and got this much...

Inventory#6: Cleansing Oil and Water

My usual night cleansing routine comprises of eye make up remover (if I do eye make up), a face make up remover (water, oil or cream; again, if I do face make up), and a face wash (foaming wash or exfoliator, or both). I don't have particular loyalty to which ever brand or method, I just do what I like.

I go through cleansers pretty quickly, although I still have way too many to justify buying new ones. Here are the oils and waters 'inventory'.

Inventory#2: My MAC Stash

One of my few new year plans for 2012 is Project Back2MAC (PB2M). I have collected way too many make up, and accumulated quite a stash of MAC. In the past, I have done Back2MAC once, which I consider a cheat because I depotted 6 blushes that are not yet used up, and Back2MAC their containers.

I hope I can really give my MAC collection some love and try to go through a few of them, mainly lip products, and then in the year after (i.e. 2013) I can really invest in things I like to try and own.

The Dr. Morita whitening cleanser is the foaming type, which I found too drying. After my sister gave it a few tries, she decided that it is also pretty drying on her now (it's winter!). She decided that it would be a summer cleanser for her. Now I gave her another tube of Laneige multi cleanser travel size and Sana Soy travel size to try. Fyi, the Dr. Morita is a Taiwanese brand which makes pretty nice sheet masks, both face and eye ones. And I got this cleanser in a set of 5 (or 10?) masks and got this for free. :P

Short Review: Naruko Derma Pro Multi-Peptide Firming Serum

I got the small travel size sample of this with my order back in Nov'11. I only gave this a few weeks of tries so I can't give a full in-depth review.

Derma Pro is a relatively new line released by Naruko, targetting semi-mature skin with more 'dermatologist' approved packaging. I feel like it aims at the market of customers who value the 'technology' concept more than the 'organic' claims.

Review: Cle de Peau Beaute Gentle Cleansing Foam and Balancing Lotion

Most of the basic skin care of Cle de Peau Beaute (CPB) have two formulae, 'refreshing' for oilier skin or people who like a fresh sensation, 'gentle' for drier skin or people who prefer a smoother feeling. My skin is generally normal to dry, and throughout the consultation, the beauty assistant only considered recommending me the gentle versions - no complaint at all here. :)

I got all the basics in full size - a cleanser, a lotion, a day emulsion and night one. I will split up my reviews in parts, and in this one I shall review the first two, because I give them more uses and opinions are formed.

December Favourites '11

It's half way through January'12 now, but I want to get this out.

For make up I have been loving Za Skin Beauty 2way Foundation, which is part of the Dec'11 and Jan'12 PvP I'm doing with Tao (aka iamgrape1119). I have been using it religiously, no sign of getting bored yet. FYI, my shade is in #21. Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light has a good matte deep shading colour and decent highlighter. I love that it comes with a use-able sized mirror! If you want to see the inside, you can check out this post or that one. Benefit Dandelion is a newly acquired item. One of the best pale pink you can get for light/fair complexion. I love how I can never over-apply this - as I can be really reckless when I do my make up on transport. ;)

December was a month of deep hydration. Here are some hard-core life-savers.

I'll explain the funky blog title in a moment. Let me just begin by screaming out HOW EXCITED AND GRATEFUL I am to receiving this box from Tao! I asked for some custom purchases (yes evil black friday sales) and items from blog sale; but we also kind of did a beauty swap -- I sent her a box of surprises and she sent me even more!!!

I struggled a little which pic to place as the 1st pic, and there it goes, the MAC Dazzlespheres. I got the Plum and Berry sets. The reason why I ask Tao to help is because in the States they're selling at USD32.5 each, in my city, the stupid MAC counters are asking for HKD400 = USD51.4 !!!! No wonder they can't sell!!!! XD XD

As I said earlier this month. I have been quite a good girl and been diligent in using up skin care. I am done with quite a lot of them. Let me begin with the samples, then the full size, then an update to my Project-20-Skin-Care. :D

Skin Care Samples

AHC Hydra B5 Smoother (sample *2) - Pretty good stuff. I think I will consider this 'repurchasable'. You let to let this sit a little bit before you apply other things on top otherwise it tends to crumble up, but it is a very good last-step serum to lock moisture - or to use before doing make up!!!
Rating: 4/5 + Repurchase: Hardly - Stupid colourmix is asking for HKD1000+ for 1 bottle of this - unless my sanity is gone, I won't re-buy!

I guess it is post-Christmas/boxing day sales at Lush made me buy these boxes. The store was doing an 'up to 50% off' on selected holiday products and I grabbed my boxes at both 30% off - quite an amazing deal! I got one Happy Christmas box and another Billy Bonkers Bathtime Favourites.

Let's start with the smaller one first.

❀PvP Collab - 2nd Round❀

December, as well as 2011, is gone, and our 1month challenge of Make-Up Pan-Killing with Tao (blog here) has come to an end. It's time to review how well we did at PvP!

In short, we made up this collaboration with 10 products chosen at each side, and try to use them up in Dec'11. The only spec for the 'pans' is that their usage must be somehow measureable, e.g. how deep the dent is in a blush, how short a pencil get, or how much weight certain pot lose, etc etc. I went a little over-scientific and brought out my electronic balance and a ruler. Hence, in my intro post, I documented how much some items weighed, and how long certain pencil measured.

There are 3 parts in this post, each part talks about 5 products; I will review the December PvP and also move on to the January PvP...

A lady called Cristina (youtube: missmolles) contacted me on youtube and ask for a swap. Basically she asked for false lashes and other Asian items - and because I have never done a beauty swap with Italian products - of course I said "YES"!

It took nearly 3 weeks for our parcels to reach the other side. But it's definitely worth it! I got tons of everything - from skin care to make up, nails to hair brush, even a whitening tooth paste!

My parents and I were alumni and invited by a relative, who sponsored our table, etc. The dress code was 'Lounge suit/Dash of green' because of our school colour. Peronally I'm not a fan of green and after turning my wardrobe upside down, I decided to go safe and wear black - with a dash of green stockings.

Last time it was Cupcake, this time it is Catastrophe Cosmetics. Overall I'm satisfied with the 2 fresh masks that I've tried, although I don't think they are 'a must' in my routine. Personally I'm fine with other masks which have longer (fridge)-life and better consistency. Apparently, my biggest complain with the fresh mask are their short life-span and the fact that they are just another mask.

Note:

The Cle de Peau (Beaute) products require individual reviews. I like them but I feel like they deserve some in-depth talk, especially when they cost so much! (the night moisturiser, 'gentle nourishing emulsion' costs hk$1200 - that's more than us$125!)
I'm really following this routine of layering serums: Anti-aging that works in deeper layer of skin -- Whitening that works in the middle layer -- Moisturising that acts on the surface. This order/routine seems to work pretty well!

I have used up quite a bit of skin care and body/hair stuff. But I'm saving them for the end of this month for a longer more sophisticated 'empties' post. In this post I'm just gonna (confess) show a few newly acquired skin care - because I'm bad and I can't keep the 'ban'...

Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution (cleansing water) - I have used a few bottles of this in the past. It is good but not 'holy grail'. I just want to give this another try because the raves about this on the internet is un-limited. I guess there's no harm to give this another chance, especially now that it's on sale. *about US$14*
JimmBenny Cleansing Milk - Yes I don't need anymore cleanser nor cleansing milk. I went to a Choi Fung store and I had to pick up something, you can read that shopping trip (HERE) and Yes, I'm not counting the sheet masks and free samples.
Korres (from ASOS) - I got their Christmas sets (for myself - bad I know but no one in my family are keen ) and inside there's these two sample sizes, I paid for them so I'm gonna count them. Korres seem to be so promising and good for skin, so I hope these little tubes can impress me! *how possible is that?*

Disappointment #2

You may notice two old friends here. E45 Lipcare and EOS Honeydew Lipbalm. The rest are 'rediscovered disappointing items', let me talk about them and how I'm gonna get rid of them.

First of all, I didn't realise until now, that my photo-editor kind of distort the ratio of these making them shortened - won't use this frame next time :S

Anyway, let me begin with the toner.

L'Occitane Rice Purifying Rice Toner
(Quote from bottle:) "This bi-phase toner leaves skin fresh and perfectly clear. Shake well before use. Apply morning and evening wiht a cotton pad on cleansed face and neck. Avoid the eye area."
To me this is like alcohol. I don't have oily skin to begin with, so perhaps this is not designed for me. I kept this in my washroom cupboard for a while, but seriously, I think they could make labels with better paper that doesn't wrinkle up like this.

Labello Soft Rose

Cheap, smells good, leaves a soft pink tint on lips; but not moisturizing enough. I am not hating this but I remember it was good stuff when I was using the previous tube. Maybe I am spoilt by all the other better balms now.

Talked about this HERE. I have continued to use this since I previously written about it. The more I use, I more I feel this doesn't live up to its hype.. Like the concept, not the real delivery of this balm.

Bonne Bell Rolly Lip Smacker - Coca Cola (no close-up pic)

I had this for a while. Bought this purely because I love the evil toxic coca cola drink. This lip oil/gloss thing is fun. Smells like cola candy. But doesn't hydrate nor save cracked lips.

So I went on shopping for a swap and I bought what I wanted, plus many more! I haven't opened everything yet as I am on my way to clearing out old stuff before starting new ones - then why buy? So if you want to see review/swatch on anything, tell me in the comments!

Dolly Wink Mascara and Eyeliner Special Edition Sets - Sam ask for Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner and when I saw these special sets, I have to get them. The problem now is, I don't know which set to send her - maybe I should keep both?? LOL **the purple is volumizing mascara, hot pink is lengthening mascara, both liquid eyeliner are same**

Canmake Shading Powder, Diamond Lash - My friend Jas asked me to help her get a shading powder in #01 after trying out mine, so I got myself a back-up. FYI, #01 is a really great neutral shade for pale to light/medium Asian colour. The diamond lash are rather popular amongst the Japanese and some Asian beauty blogs so I craved a few styles when I spotted them in SASA. They aren't cheap (about US$13.5 for 5 pairs) so hopefully they live up to their hype! **hot pink box = gorgeous, purple = natural (bottom)**

Kate Mineral Loose Foundation, Gel Eyebrow brush and More Diamond Lash - There is this stunning leopard bag organizer gift-with-purchase with Kate products so I had to get myself some Kate. Never tried their mineral line so I started with the loose foundation (Colour in OC-B, about US$15.5 for 10g). More Diamond Lashes because 2 styles aren't enough **Left one = cats, right hand side = angel**

Za Skin Beauty Two-way Foundation - I got this already and I love it. Za is the sub-brand of Shiseido. A moisturizing and smooth powder, not cake-y but gives good coverage. It is decently priced and they make really cute limited edition cases! **I use shade #21** (you can see the one I am using HERE)

Tsubaki Water - I got both of them in the travel sizes because I want to give them a try (and finish them off) before comitting to a full size one. **Note: space is limited and if my mum charge me land rent for my junk, I'll be bank-rupt** These are hair conditioning spray or leave-in conditioner. I am using the white one one and like it. **Red - mist with tsubaki oil EX (to make normal hair shine) and White - Damage Care mist with tsubaki amino (for damaged hair)**

Germanium Facial Roller - Umm.. basically to massage face to smooth wrinkles, improve circulation, etc etc.. It is cute pink! and handy. Quite lovely feeling on the skin as well.

Just a random moisturizer because it's on sale?!

luckytrendy Multi Foundation Brush - because I'm loving my current one I need to get a back up of this! it is so soft and so handy. The short length of its bristles give me very good control of what I'm doing, whether it's applying foundation or buffing on powder!

Mascara Combo - Majolica Majorca mascara base and Maybelline Colossal Waterproof UK version. See how the Maybelline perform on its own HERE. These together give me real false-lash-effect. And they are very long-wearing, no flakes, no smudge, no nothing. Adorable on their own and perfect togther. *note: they are more on the lengthening side, not volumizing*

Korean Shampoo - the purple ones are from the brand 呂 (sorry no English name) and the blue set is from Esthaar. Both sets work very well but the smell and texture of the purple one is divine. Sounds ridiculous but I really wish I had hauled back more from Korea! :P

I got the Attirer at Sasa store, and the Lily Bell at Aster (another beauty chainstore in Hong Kong). Soft - the cotton used is nice, the texture is really soft and feels comfy when rub agains skin - despite the surface > see point 2!
Textured surface - as you can see in the close-up above, it has woven pattern to facilitate gentle physical exfoliation. LOVE this.
Well-built - the sides are 'sealed' tightly and on the top and bottom it is pressed, doesn't lose its shape too soon when I work with it
Cheap - about hk$10-15 for 222 pieces, definitely reasonable
Packaging - there is a thread to tie up the bag of cotton, not moisture-proof like a zip-lock but still a thoughtful design.

Cons:

Availability - so far I've only seen this in Aster stores and they aren't always in stock
Size - 5cm x 6cm is normal size but I like mine to be larger

Suzuran Attirer Puff

Pros:

Availability - Most Sasa stores sell these.
Soft - Soft basic cotton, perhaps even softer than Lily Bell. ;)
Cheap - Again, about hk$10-15 for 240 pieces **EVEN MORE!**
Tear-able - Each layer is still as soft and natural as the whole piece. Easy to tear too!

Cons:

Size - 5cm x 6cm: I personally wish it is larger
Loose Shape - When force is applied this can loose its shape quite quickly. You can tell from the natural fibre layers (see above!) that it is not welll-woven into a shape to endure force!
Packaging - unlike the Lily Bell, this plastic bag doesn't have any sealing design (or a tie). I'd say to keep it sanitary and dry, better use a ziplock or container to store.

Comparison

Excuse me for the lighting, but on the left is Lily Bell and on the right is Attirer. You can see the surface of Lily Bell has some woven stitches on, while Attirer is just like plain cotton fibre.

For taking off make up, nail polish - you definitely want a little more friction to work with - help takes things off physically (the remover is just chemical, right?). Hence the Lily Bell works better.

For applying toner/emulsion, it depends on personal preference - I prefer a better grip and cotton that stays in shape, hence the Lily Bell. But if you prefer something softer and more gentle to the skin, perhaps Attirer is yours.

For doing lotion/water mask, I would say the Attirer works better because it is less pressed/sealed at the sides and the looser fibre layers allow easier tearing - which you need when you do lotion masks!

Conclusion

Unless you can't tell, I prefer Lily Bell more than Attirer. Mainly because I don't always do lotion mask and I prefer something more sturdy to hold. I'd give Lily Bell a rating of 4/5 and Attirer a 3/5.

However, I'm still on the look for better cottons! Stay tuned for the coming episodes of cotton pads review. :P

Nivea Aqua Sensation Invigorating Day Cream - Basically I like this cream. It is moisturising, not greasy, feels nice on the skin and everything. However the melon/fruity/cucumber scent is a bit too much for me. My sister love creams like this (e.g. the L'Oreal hydra fresh line), so I'm more than happy when she gladly received this from me. I think I'll continue to use my other skin care for some time, especially loving my naruko stuff for the time being! *fyi, the toner I feel is too light - hence I save it for summer *the cleansing milk not yet opened. Hi, so here comes the 1st review of cotton pads. I have listed out all the cotton I have on hand HERE, and in this post I'm going to talk about the Muji unbleached one.

On the Muji Hong Kong website, I found the cotton description below. They offer 3 types of cotton - Cotton Puff (with stitches or pressed edge), Cut Cotton (loose layer of fibres) in white and unbleached, 2 different colours.

Cotton Puff ($20 for 60pcs)
Cut Cotton ($15 for 120pcs)
Cut Cotton - Unbleached Big ($35 for 102pcs)
Cut Cotton - Unbleached Small ($18 for 140pcs) ** will be reviewing this one **
Cotton Puff ($15 for 129pcs)

For the information I have taken, I have already 2 questions:

Except for the size and quantity, are Cotton Puff ($20 for 60pcs) and Cotton Puff ($15 for 129pcs) different in texture or build?
Does anyone notice the dimension for Cut Cotton - Unbleached Small ($18 for 140pcs) is wrong? It should be 60x50mm

Anyway, My Review:

Pros:

Natural - not bleached
Soft - doesn't drag or irritate skin
Affordable - actually pretty reasonably-priced
Packaging - clear zip-lock bag

(see how soft it is when I place it at my finger tips?)

Cons:

Shapeless - it is not pressed at the edge, hence the fibre just moves and cotton lose its shape very quickly
Size - I find the squares a bit small for my taste

Recommend?

Yes for lotion/water mask - soft and natural and easy to tear
Not for applying lotion - lose its shape too easily.
Not for removing make up or nail polish - soaks up too much liquid.

Repurchase?

NO - Because I don't do lotion mask enough to justified this purchase.

Conclusion

I'm happy with this swap especially with the Montagne Jeunesse mud type of masks, and Barry M little pots of eyeshadows! ;) **Maybe I should swatch them/do FOTD with them soon**

However, I found the Damask Rose mask and MUA mascara to be opened. I didn't expect that (although I wouldn't mind if notified beforehand) so that's a little surprising~

I have been strong killing products (and buying new ones) as illustrated by the finales of 2 of my projects: Body and Hair, as well as Make Up. I have been sick for 2 weekends and on holiday for 1 - hence I didn't stay too close to a routine - if I ever had one :P

Anyway - Skin Care

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado -Tao sent me this sample to try out. I like it a lot in fact! This eye cream is one of the famous basic ones that gives good moisture and nourishment with good ingredients and stuff. A little bit of this adds just the enough emollience for the current weather. (Note: about 13-18 degrees, dry and windy) After clearing my skin care stash a bit I may consider repurchasing this! Rating: 4/5

My Beauty Diary Strawberry Yogurt Amino Acid Cleanser - I use this roughly twice a week with my Clarisonic Mia. Sometimes I use this on its own too. It has tiny red granules inside that melt when the cleanser foams up with water. Gives good gentle cleansing and exfoliation. Smells delicious but not over-powering. Not drying but not moisturising enough for my skin. This is the small size that came with a trial set - I'm happy I got a full size back up for the next summer. (Note: you can see more detail in the pic that follows) Rating: 3/5
Clinique take the day off make up remover - Again, this is a small trial/sample/travel size. My evening cleansing routine - when I wore make up - usually starts with a pre-cleanse mascara remover (Fasio or Kiss Me), a make up remover soak in cotton pad for eyes, cleansing oil OR cream OR clarisonic for face make up, then another cleanser or exfoliator in the shower. This Clinique one is good, oily enough to take off waterproof stuff, and gentle. No scent and no colour - the bottle is purple, not the product. I like this much. @Joselin - this is comparable to Lancome Bi-facil, without the blue colour, scent and the price difference. As far as I can remember, the Lancome was a bit more emollient too. ;) Rating: 4/5

Body and Hair

Beauty Mate Rose Nano Body Lotion - A year or two ago, beauty mate came up with the holiday set with 17 sheet masks and 1 body lotion at a very discounted price. I got a good few sets of them hence I have a good few bottles of this lotion. The smell is beautiful. As it came as almost a free gift (with the sheet masks), I apply this in an extremely generous manner. It does moisturise and leaves skin soft + smelling beautiful. Enjoyed using up the last bottle of it - but as I have used up so many bottles of this same scent, I don't think I need anymore of this in my life! XD (unless they do similar sets again...) Rating: 3/5
The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner - Talked about this HERE. I love the shampoo, will seriously check it out next time I need a shampoo (that will be many months later), the conditioner does the job - nice too! Rating: 4.5/5 for shampoo, 3/5 for conditioner

Amazing Shampoo and Conditioner!! Hair mask is okay, wide tooth comb is definitely handy to detangle wet hair~
If you love the scent of their honey n oat 3-in-1 mask, you'll definitely love this scent too!!!
The shampoo is moisturising and leaves hair shiny and lovely-scented. The conditioner is good, but the hair butter/mask I feel is just okay.
Considering to repurchase the shampoo in the future~*
Note: I got 2 of these travel sets so I am good for another few weeks. FYI, I wash and condition my hair every day, but I rotate my shampoo and conditioner!

There is a liquid foundation in this range, as well as the compact - which I own. I got samples of this foundation + concealer in the shade 02 Beige Clair.

Size - This comes in a larger pan of foundation (0.7 gram), and a thin pan of concealer (0.3 gram), which is designed to look a little like the real packaging.
Colour - The shade Beige Clair is nearly perfect match for me. Well - the free (PR) samples in HK are usually light to medium Asian (yellow/beige) colour, hence tend to match me okay. The foundation is medium coverage and slightly darker in shade, whereas the concealer is a little thicker, more concentrated in pigment and lighter in shade.
Crap Sponge - The sponge included is crap, so tiny that I can't imagine one can even hold it. I mainly use my fingers to apply the product to my skin and then blend with another brush or sponge or fingers. The formula is so great you can't go wrong with whatever blending methods.
Texture - I really don't have much complaint. Very creamy and satiny and smooth, easy to blend. Looks made-up but gives a flawless finish on the skin. It sets to a very light powdery finish and if you like the semi-matte finish, no need to add other powder. However, it is not very moisturizing, I need to put a good cream or primer underneath.

First time: Bio-Cellulose Mask

I have tried hundreds of sheet mask - paper, silk, cotton, jelly - and now, it's Bio-Cellulose.

Ludeya Brightening Moisturing Bio-Cellulose Mask
I got this mask from Taiwan drugstore-chain CosMed (康是美). It came in a box of 3 and there's some sort of buy 1 get 1 promotion going on. It costs me hkd$18 per piece.

What is Bio-Cellulose Mask?
Bio-Cellulose Mask is composed of nano-fibers formed by fermented microbes. The fiber structure is interlaced in three-dimensional space allowing active ingredients to be absorbed deeply into epidermis and demonstrating extraordinary immersion efficacy.

How it feels like?
Just like Second Skin!
The Mask is thin, thinner than I imagined. But fit to my face contour really well. There is hardly any gap or 'bubble' to smooth out. *except the space around the nose - the hole is a little too big and you can see the zit on my left cheek almost coming out.

Ingredients for those who're interested
A funny fact: water is the last ingredient, probably because of its special texture, it can hold other ingredients/moisture inside the mask instead of soaking in a pool of solution... maybe?

Mask removed
Unlike using other wet solution mask, my face seem brightened, smooth, moisturised - BUT NOT DRIPPING WET! There is no excessive lotion/serum to massage in. If I am to do this mask before make up, I feel like I can totally start my base after mask-removal!

Quickly end this post with a post-skin-care, moisturised (ugly) face! :D

Please don't tell anyone you've seen how much I have hauled all the way back from Taiwan.

The (Shameful) End to P10P

For the past month or so, although I allow myself to shop for make up - birthday as an excuse - I still try to limit myself to buying things that I really wanted and also try to use up things as much as possible. Turned out I didn't only buy what I need, what I want, but also many extras (that's another story)...

FYI, my project 10 pan is only on make up items, skin care, body and hair or perfume are not counted. This is so challenging to me, and I need to be strict in order to make this meaningful... Well... These 2 months or so have been tough (in terms of using up make up), but I still used up something I like, and something I don't. Read on if you like.

Here I show and tell what I have managed to finish, and surprisingly, I actually finished 10 since I began...

Repurchase? Maybe, I have no access to this, plus I have other better favourites ;)

Lioele Triple Solution BB (sample) - Rating: 2/5

Sadly, the shade does not suit me well. It applies too dark on me then later oxidises to a slight greyish tone on me. I guess this will work for cooler skin tones that is a bit darker than me. I have a quite yellowish looking neck and I feel I am wearing a mask when I put this on - esp when it starts oxidising. Nevertheless, it has a nice texture and blendibility, not too oily nor drying -- problems with some other BB creams I tried.
Recommend? Yes; because the texture is lovely, but not for all skin tones (of course)
Repurchase? No

I like the fatty wand/brush and the bright neon yellow bottle - easy to find in my crowded make up bag. Love this much better than the Covergirl Lash Blast! **Rating: A-

I guess the repackaged "skinny brush" might be the same as this. One thin coat it gives me length and tiny big of volume. 2nd coat - no matter how thin or thick - it weighs down my lashes and destroys my curl. Same disappointing when I first opened it and now - after a few months of drying up in the tube. **Rating: D

Application:

Note:

Naruko Narcissus Total Defense Fundamental Serum may be the most versatile serums of the many offerings from Naruko. This is meant to be basic (the 'entry' product line of Naruko is Narcissus Total Defense), and good for layering -- meaning if you want more whitening you can add another raw job's tears serum on top, or for oil control: a tea tree serum for example.

Note:

The cle de peau set works pretty well for me - cleanser and creme demaquillante (make up remover) okay. lotion and emulsion above average. need to work on them more to give a good review but I think I'm going to like them, rather than hate them. I totally feel they are over-priced, naruko or other drugstore brands can work as well if the application is careful enough. also i think i will be mixing other things in my routine - esp a lotion or a moisturizer - because simply using these CdP emulsion with cotton still seems too wasteful to me :)
I'm gonna take a short break from my journal - perhaps a week or so, because this is a little boring to myself :P
Expect to see a massive intensive extensive skin care lot I hauled all the way from taiwan. It is huge.
My boyfriend has definite oily skin, his pores are always clogged and zits grow every now an then although he hasn't been a teenager for a long long time now. I gave him the first facial experience after hotspring during our trip - with zits popping and a cooling facial sheet mask - and he loved it. His exlamation was "爽啊" XD ((lol if you can understand that))

Crabtree n Evelyn La Source Body Lotion

Crabtree n Evelyn Rosewater Body Lotion

The texture of these 2 body lotions are similar. Very fast absorbing and feels light-weight on the skin. I'm sure this lotion won't work for me now, as the weather turns dry and my body needs oil and butter instead of watery lotion. Scent-wise, Rosewater is just okay, very basic/original/old-school rose smell - natural instead of artificial, good but not special. La Source is much better, fresh, refreshing and 'relaxing' - I like it a lot.
(Recommend? Yes if you like light smooth fresh body lotion. Repurchase? No if I have to pay full price)

OPI Avojuice Skin Quenchers Berry Merry Rose Juicie

This smell is the best out of the few I tried. It really throws a happy (merry) sweet fruity (berry + juicie) and floral (rose) scent. Similar to the body lotion mentioned above, it tends towards the light side, not even soothing enough to be used as hand cream - this is just too wet and light, I prefer more creamy lotion/creams. Not bad and especially like its yumminess.
(Recommend? Yes if you like berry n rose. Repurchase? No.)

Pantene Clinicare Hair Time Renewal Shampoo

Again, this packaging is dis-continued, as with my other pantene clinicare hair products (these were made in thailand, the current ones sold in stores are made in china). I like the Clinicare line a lot. For shampoo I like the blue and the pink. Conditioner and mask - all in the different ranges! This shampoo has a very nice smell, lathers up easily (yes it has whatever sulphates in), leaves hair smooth (perhaps silicon whatever in too?) and really makes me feel hair is moist and nourished, even without conditioner/mask following. I need to investigate on the new package/formula after I clear up my stash a little.

Bath n Body Works Twilight Woods Body Lotion

Again, the humidity in Hong Kong no longer allow me to wear body lotion on its own. I need to pile on some creams or butters to make my skin un-itchy. This BBW formula tends towards the thick side in the lotion spectrum, but still not enough for me. (I used this up in 3 or 4 applications, can you imagine how thirsty my legs/body are?) Twilight woods is an adorable scent, warm and basic, nothing too fancy nor floral or fresh. I feel like this scent would work on heavier formua and this formula works with sweeter or fresher scents.
(Recommend? Yes, both the scent and the formula. Repurchase? Not this scent in this formula!)

Choifung CL Papaya Bust Firming Cream (homepage here - in Chinese only)

I was looking for body creams and I found this free sample sitting in my cupboard, hence I gave it a go. My bust size is small (typical flat-chested) and I don't have that much fat to 'firm'... I don't have a bust-care routine, exercise nor product application. I can just say, this feels very moisturising, easy to massage in but hard to absorb. Doesn't irritate but gives a funny cooling sensation. Not particularly scented - perhaps too faint I don't realise any?
(Recommend? No idea. Repurchase? No.)

Ma Cherie Gloss Milky Wax

This is perhaps the only one hair styling product I have used up?? Because I rarely use any on my hair - not only product but I mean styling in general. This was hidden in my travel bag for ages and because of the Taiwan trip I managed to use this on my hair, in a morning when Mr Boyfriend blow-dry my hair. (blush) Makes my hair silky glossy and easy to manage - good. Considering to give my hair products some good use and then go buy the full size of these. Ma Cherie is a drugstore brand of Shiseido, most product packaged very cutely (many in pink) and quite popular among Asian girls...

(Recommend? Yes! Repurchase? Probably!)

Smells strangely unisex and refreshing, not the 'aqua' or menthol kind of unisex but more warm and perhaps woody? Wash well, pretty moisturizing in terms of shower gel. I have used multiples of these esp during trips (as I always find travel sizes of these in my bathroom - mum bought them, perhaps). Never ever bought the full big giant bottle but one day, I would! :D

(Recommend? Yes! Repurchase? Yes!)

MJ Foot Care Pack

I bought a set of 10 pairs of this foot mask in Korea. It was from a shop called 'Beauty Credit'. They are one of the many chain stores that crowd in Myeong-dong (shopping/busy area). Unlike most other shops, they aren't equip with the most arrogant saleslady and chinese/english fluent assistants. The shops are actually a bit messy and less attractive. But they are stocked with good stuff! These masks cost about $12 per pair (hk dollars ofcoz) and works as well as the Sasa ones (those are about $30-40 per pair). Makes feet soft and moist, but not long-term. I believe pedicure requires very frequent scrubbing and oils and massage and very rare walking - not achievable... Think about instant pedicure in a plastic bag :P
(Recommend? Yes! Repurchase? Yes!)

I think I did okay, not too well, not too bad. It took around 3 months and I accomplished the product with about half full size, half samples - really quite good in fact! I thought I would have to cheat with mostly samples!

Besides exploiting my birthday license and bought so many products, Lush, Haus of Gloi, Lux, etc, I also made use of the current in-store promotion of Body Shop and got mysef quite a few Body Butters and hair travel sets - super great stuff - talk about them later perhaps! I seriously think I need to do a Body n Hair project again, soon. Perhaps a shorter one? But hang on, I need to break a while and look around for new things to acquire!!! :D

Insane girls like me who's obsessed with anything related to skin care sometimes, if not always, buy too much/many of things, products. If you'd excuse me, I'd count cotton pads as beauty products.

I came across this article on beautylish ( link ) where the writer basically introduce what are the properties she looks for when shopping for cotton pads and some products out in the market. There is also another post talking about the differences between squares (my fav.), rounds and balls - link.

For me, I use cotton pads for several purposes:

After completing my previous P10SC, I allow myself to buy (evil word) as many skin care as I wish - and you-guess-what, I went totally over board and crazily acquired too much!! In view of my giant size of skin care stock, I think allowing myself to buy so many is an insane act. Anyhow, I have bought them, and now I'm showing you my stash, and then talk about my new project...

Short Review: Naruko Derma Pro Multi-Peptide Firming Serum

I got the small travel size sample of this with my order back in Nov'11. I only gave this a few weeks of tries so I can't give a full in-depth review.

Derma Pro is a relatively new line released by Naruko, targetting semi-mature skin with more 'dermatologist' approved packaging. I feel like it aims at the market of customers who value the 'technology' concept more than the 'organic' claims.
